Hey folks, I’ve been daydreaming (not for a long time) about what it’d be like to spin the Moscow Central Circle into TSW5, and honestly, it ticks pretty much every box. Picture a 54‑kilometre orbital ribbon around the heart of Moscow, rebuilt from the old Little Ring freight line and opened to passengers back in September 2016. You’d weave through 31 modernised stations, popping up at key interchanges—26 of them hooking you into the Metro network—so you could hop off in Savyolovskaya one minute and be at Kurskaya the next, all under the same Troika‑card ticketing umbrella with free transfers inside 90 minutes.
    upload_2025-4-22_12-28-18.png

The real star of the show would be those sleek Siemens ES2G Lastochka EMUs, gliding along a 3 kV DC overhead line at an average 37 km/h but capable of 110 km/h when the run clears. They’re the high‑density “Swallow” sets Russian Railways rolled out—33 in daily service from the gleaming Podmoskovnaya depot, each kitted with air‑con, wide doors and level boarding for lightning‑fast stops. Night or day, you’d have a train every 5–6 minutes in the morning crush and still never wait more than 10–15 minutes off‑peak, which makes it feel less like waiting and more like a constant flow.

What really grabs me is the cameo opportunities for urban railfans—riding over high steel viaducts past the Moskva River, nicking sights of Luzhniki Stadium or the glittering glass towers of the Central Business District as you barrel around the city’s edge. The route snakes above ground for most of its length, dives under a few key spots and threads through industrial yards turned commuter hubs—all in one go. Throw in Moscow’s infamous winter conditions—ice, snow drifts, steel rails glinting in the low sun—and you’ve got scenario fodder for days: keep the heads on your shoulders while you juggle traction, braking and passenger comfort.

For gameplay, imagine tackling the morning peak timetable, lining up a Lastochka train at busy Belokamennaya, executing a flawless non‑dwell at Andronovka as you swap power settings, and racing the clock against the next inbound service. With the MCC’s blend of rapid‑transit vibe and mainline robustness—solid braking, realistic acceleration curves, actual GSM‑R communications and KLUB‑U safety protocols—it’d feel miles apart from the usual metro shunts. Plus, it’s got that other‑ring‑line flavour: think of the Koltsevaya Line but out where the city really sprawls.

All in all, dropping the Moscow Central Circle into TSW5 would give us a fresh class of intercity‑style runs, top‑tier rolling stock, huge passenger volumes (it pulls almost half a million riders daily), and a visual smorgasbord that only a city as massive and varied as Moscow can offer. Perfect for anyone craving high‑intensity schedules, winter ops, and the thrill of threading a modern commuter train through one of the world’s most iconic capitals.

DTG needs to consider the Moscow Central Circle to come to TSW5. This isn’t just another metro or commuter line—this is a unique hybrid urban orbital railway, and you drive it like a true professional. You’ve got full-length 54 km of high-frequency, high-pressure, all-day passenger runs through 31 stations—all of them detailed, varied, and reflective of real Moscow urban rail ops. It looks like a metro, but it runs on full-size heavy rail infrastructure, with mainline signals, EMUs, and complex service patterns that would keep both casual players and hardcore sim fans engaged. Gameplay-wise, this is gold.

You’ve got tight headways, real-time traffic bunching, rush hours, weather-based conditions, short turns, technical reversals, and a loop configuration that offers non-stop scenarios. It’s the kind of route where no two runs ever feel the same. And since it’s a circle, you can run full loops, half loops, depot-to-mainline transitions, or even staged disruptions that force creative thinking—seriously, it’s got everything you’d want in modern urban driving. The Siemens ES2G Lastochka is already a fan-favorite design: modern, fast, agile, and purpose-built for this route. With its sleek cab, fast acceleration, regenerative braking, and dynamic passenger displays, it gives players a rewarding experience both visually and technically. And the way it interacts with the route—tight braking points, short station dwell times, and precision timing—makes it deeply satisfying to master. And no—this isn’t a 300-mile slog that only gets good after 30 minutes. This is intense, minute-to-minute gameplay.

You’re driving under pressure from the second the doors close. You’re navigating curves, grades, and packed station stops with just enough time to breathe before your next challenge. What’s more, the MCC offers incredible expansion potential. Yes, the base release could focus on the core clockwise service with the ES2G, but future DLCs could unlock reverse direction services, add AI/suburban connections to other lines like the Rizhsky or Kursky directions, or even layer in historical event-based services (like the Luzhniki matchday rushes). It has so much room to grow while remaining perfectly self-contained for an initial release. Bottom line? This is a route with dense gameplay, a distinct train, modern systems, operational complexity, and real-world character—everything Train Sim World 5 thrives on. I looked at the route and rolling stock (a few months ago) and thought, “man this is made for Train Sim World.”

Because it is. (well no but it has to come to tsw5)

And I want it. We want it. The community’s ready for something like this—so let’s bring it to life. Let’s go full circle with the Moscow Central Circle.

While interesting, it is unimaginable DTG will travel to Russia given the situation in the world....

Suggesting anything Russian is pretty much a waste of time and effort for the foreseeable future, given the ongoing political situation. Also, even if travel to Russia at present was permitted, the railways are not going to let anyone near them for research let alone offer detailed technical information that can then be visible in a sim. There is at least one known case of sabotage on the Russian rail network by Ukrainian partisans/sympathisers (the long tunnel and bridges on the BAM line), so the government and rail authorities are simply going to say “no”.

Impressive if there are other trains that can use this remember the double decker trains would need a Yermak loco because the power consumption for the double decker trains overwhelm a single EP2Ks

I very much doubt any routes coming from Ukraine or Russia given the current 2-year long invasion. No one apart from their allies such as North Korea want anything do with Russia

    Morning folks,

First of all, thank you for the very detailled and well researched suggestion, we appreciate your work.
I quickly wanted to remind everyone to keep any kind of political talk outside of these forums, as they have a tendency of deteriorating, thank you.

    All the best,
    Jan

+1 Jan. However when Russian (or as we have seen in other threads Israel) routes are mentioned it does tend to be the number one reason why such projects will never happen. And why, as I’ve postulated before, it wouldn’t hurt to have a sticky thread from someone at DTG listing the regions, or rail operators like SNCF or SBB, where currently it is a waste of time making suggestions for.

It's a suggestion part of the forum. There is no need to always make complanes when people have proposals like American Freight and other. The most people here know, that DTG has abandoned it. So people should make suggestions about things they are looking impossible at the moment. Because without open suggestions there is no progress.

Think about the time DTG had the BNSF license for american customer only. Then a lot of people showed there enthusiasm for it and since 2022 all customers can have BNSF stuff in TSC and TSW.

So suggestions should be open for all without political or economic boundaries.
