We have the MP15 design and the SW1500 is similar. It'd be low hanging fruit to add a DLC pack (like in TSC) of those in a number of liveries with a number of scenarios for all the US routes. Use some of those huge number of industrial sidings that were created and usually sit empty. Virtually every railroad used one or both of those shunters and TSW already owns the MP15DC model. Shunting would work on just about every US route. (Not sure about LIRR, Morristown or Providence, but the others definitely) That's a TON of options. Seems like something a smaller studio would be chomping at the bit to work on as a starter project. Something like "Legends of the Great Western" or the "Cargo Packs." Only we have a dearth of US studios to do that stuff. I'd say High Iron but they seem to have their hands full. Since it's all freight you wouldn't even need to mess with timetables, just a bunch of scenarios (enough to justify the price, maybe 3-5 per route for a at least 3 routes) The more you offer the more you could charge of course, but a minimum of 3 scenarios each for 3 routes in 3 liveries for 2 locos seems fair for the usual $16.99. More would be better of course. That can be expanded to include more routes of course, like TSC. Thoughts?
We should get small EMD switchers for industrial operations as well as hostler (loco shop) operations.
ВIt seems that these locomotives are practically not used now due to their low power. The SD40-2 is currently used as a shunting locomotive.
This locomotive is currently used on the Long Island Railroad for passenger equipment rescues and maintenance of way moves
