Hah, fancy seeing you here mate. I can confirm that the mountains heading up the Spessart rampe do seem a little untextured, but they are sort of hidden, and are only easy to find if you look hard enough.
Distance scenery like that mountain or hill is usually as basic as your picture shows it to be it’s most likely there as that mountain or hill is quite visible from that point in reality or to help block what would be a blank part of the route it’s also possible it has trees all over it but TSW only loads them at rather too close of a distance
I guess that particular spot stuck out like a sore thumb to me but thank god it’s not as bad at other places. The end off of the Lohr branch line is also pretty bland but that line only has one timetable going to it so I see why they don’t feel the need to put more detail there
