The Staten Island Railway (SIR) is a railroad line in the New York City borough of Staten Island. It is owned by the Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority (SIRTOA), a subsidiary of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and operated by the New York City Transit Authority Department of Subways. SIR operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing local service between St. George and Tottenville, along the east side of the island.

Just suggesting this to shake things up

Although the railway was originally considered a standard rail line, the existing line is severed from the national rail system, and only a small portion of the former North Shore Branch still sees freight use. The passenger operations are now regulated as a rapid transit system, and exempt from certain regulations. The line uses modified R44 and R211S subway cars, the latter of which will replace the R44s throughout 2024 and 2025.

This would be different from what we have because we don't have this on TSW now and would be interesting to see, it's 21 stations and 14 miles long.

Is this something that could be re-created?

DTG have previously stated the operator will not allow access to the trains or system for research. Their prerogative if they feel depicting their infrastructure and traction in a game could increase the possibility of vandalism or anti social/criminal/even terrorist behaviour. While SI is divorced from the main Subway system, presumably the same caveats apply. Security concerns are why LIRR clamped down on how their trains could be represented with certain key elements to get the train moving removed and that safety systems must always be on.

MTA is very worried because of what goes on with NYCT people take subway trains for Joyrides and as a result of this and other things MTA is very strict and I doubt they allow a subway route. They didn't used to be as worried when it came to stuff like this. If you notice on the LIRR route some stuff was changed/altered because they don't want people to fully learn how to operate the trains.
