The 64km route Munich - Rosenheim in Germany serves as the most important cross-border rail link between Germany and Austria. Now this route is very scenic. Originally the line was built as a single lane between 1860 and 1971, later expanded to two lanes and formed the most important connection between Germany and Austria. It connects the German city of Munich with the Austrian cities of Vienna and Salzburg. As the main route of the German-Austrian Trans-Europ-Express (TEE) connection and as a section of the Orient Express, the route enjoyed increasing popularity. In 1914 there were around fifty trains a day on the line, but this number fell dramatically during the war, due to the lack of coal and the slow but more important military trains that ran towards Eastern Europe. Shortly after the war, the route returned to its original level of traffic and is now used by many trains heading for Austria and Germany. The picturesque route consists of a mix of urban areas and rural landscapes, here locomotives of the "Taurus" type run in front of InterCity trains (of the ÖBB), "Flirt 3" railcars in regional traffic, as well as the railcars of the DB BR 423. These depart from the Munich hub on the Munich - Grafing S-Bahn (S4). Munich is also the main hub of the main route to Rosenheim.
I'm not sure, but does the ICE-T run this route aswell? Would that make a good loco DLC? Or maybe the Taurus with a Railjet?
the Taurus first drives on its route. with the DB it is the BR 182. The ICE-T (BR411) could be that runs on this route. They go to Vienna.
With the Taurus, FLIRT and 423 as standard (three locos because the 423 is already in game and can just be reused), and the ICE-T as optional DLC, this route would be great! Definetely if it includes the Stammstrecke which goes into a tunnel underneath München Hbf and rejoins the mainline to Rosenheim at München Ost.
Driving in Munich does not go through the city tunnel. The junction in the direction of Rosenheim is at the level of Donnersbergerbrücke and runs through the city to the Ostbahnhof. The BR182 Taurus is already in the game.
The trains run from Munich as regional from tracks 5 - 10 and the international trains, i.e. EC, IC and ICE, from tracks 11, 12 or 13. This means that they do not come through the city tunnel and must first drive out in the direction of Augsburg to the junction at the level of the Donnersbergerbrücke.
A couple of train connections on its route. EC289 Munich Hbf platform 11 Munich East platform 8 Rosenheim platform 5 BRB RB54 (79087) Munich Hbf Gl.5-10, platform 9 Munich east platform 8 Grafing station platform 5 Aßling (Oberbay) platform 3 Easter Munich platform 3 Großkarolinenfeld platform 2 Rosenheim platform 5
Only the S-Bahn of the City of Munich drive through the city tunnel. It would also be really great if the main line Munich Augsburg and its were closed together. So you could also take the S-Bahn through the city tunnel. So you could drive the S1 from Laim to Leuchtenberg, the S2 from Laim to Berg am Laim, S3 from Mannendorf (HMA) to Ostbahnhof, S4 from Pasing (HMA) to Ebersberg as well as the S6. From the Ostbahnhof, the route is back to Rosenheim, the S7 from Heimeranplatz to Ostbahnhof and the S8 from Pasing to Leuchtenbergring.
Yeah I knew that, I meant the S-bahn services that should come with this route. For them the tunnel should be accesable. The BR 182 (aside from livery) does differ slightly here and there from the ÖBB Taurus, depending on which of the series you look at.
The Flirt3 in its livery and not in the DB red livery. This paintwork belongs to the Bavarian Oberlandbahn
The ÖBB Taurus types are 1016 15kv 16.7hz Sifa PZB LZB Germany & Austria only followed by Integra Signum ZUB123 Switzerland 1.45m pantographs EVM 120 Hungary 25kv 50hz 2m pantograph PZB LZB Sifa 15kv 16.7hz Germany Austria 1.95m pantographs Rh 1116 those are typically seen doing Freight Services and the Munich-Wien-Straß-Sommerein (Hegyeshalom)-Budapest Railjet. Lastly the Rh 1216 215 mph 357 km/h world record for Electric locomotives and is capable of operating on 3kv DC 25kv 50hz LS90 Czechoslovakia 15kv 16.7hz Sifa PZB LZB Germany Austria 3kv 25kv 50hz SCMT BACC ETCS Italy. If You look at it from the top its the DB BR182 S Bahn Leipzig locomotive Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg-Gemünden Freight Locomotive with 4 pantographs. For this railway line its seen with the Munich-Verona Euro City train Pre COVID-19 pandemic.
It would be interesting to drive the ICE because it changes direction to get into Munich. Would be good route to drive.
Ok then but for BR182 it's the same as the Austrian 1116 due to it being 15kv 16.7hz Sifa PZB LZB Germany Austria and 25kv 50hz 2m pantograph Hungary EVM 120
I would be happy if these locomotives were on the Munich - Rosenheim route (MRR) as standard locomotives. For freight transport the DB BR 152 in the red DB livery, the regional train Flirt 3 in the Bavarian Oberlandbahn livery and for long-distance transport the Taurus in the Railjet livery from the ÖBB and its passenger cars. I also added the original pictures. DB BR 152 in the Red DB livery Flirt 3 in the Bavarian Oberlandbahn livery Taurus in the Railjet livery Railjet in Traunstein (Bavaria)
As a locomotive add-on, the DB BR 440 and the DB BR 411 - ICE-T would fit well on its HMA and MRR routes DB BR440 "Fugger Express" from HMA ICE-T
The BR 440 would be great to have for HMA and this route. The BR 411 ICE-T would also be great (It might be my 5th most favourite ICE, but I just like ICEs a lot ). I think the ICE-T could also layer onto Hamburg-Lübeck, so that would totally be worth it as a loco DLC.
They share a lot of similarities, so DTG might turn them in a combined pack. However I think they wont, with the differences being too large and both operating on different routes (the 1440 on RRO IIRC).
Speaking of the Austrian Rh1116 Dovetail games can make it by Reskinning Rapid Transit DB BR182 into the ÖBB 1116 since both Taurus locomotives have Austrian and German PZB LZB Sifa 15kv 16.7hz with Hungarian EVM 120 25kv 50hz systems. Furthermore more the Red ÖBB 1116 does operate Dusseldorf Köln Wien Innsbruck night trains. Sleeper train gets split at Munich for the one half going to Innsbruck while the other half goes to Wien via Rosenheim Salzburg
It’s not that DTG can start a 100-mile route, Instead, they have strict timetables and timetables. For DTG, a route that may exceed 50 miles may take more than half a year. The simplest other problem is multi-studio collaborative assisted development. DTG has advantages in terms of personnel and can make the routing nodes on the route longer. For example, DTG is responsible for the development of Munich to Badiendorf, and the remaining studios are responsible for the development of the remaining path nodes in Salzburg, Austria
Or the new 182 coming with Hamburg-Lübeck, which maybe will be the one with digital MFD displays. I hope the new 182 won't be just used in front of freight trains (since it's the MRCE-loco) but also passenger trains.
The ICE T to Vienna goes via Nuremberg and Passau, nowhere near Munich or Rosenheim iirc, but still a great suggestion
That's the newer model for BR182. If the MRCE BR182 has the MFD display players can play around with it and raise the 2m Hungarian 25kv 50hz pantograph while a switch is isolated for the Hungarian EVM 120 system. Provided the MRCE BR182 Hamburg-Lübeck Hanseatic Main Line gets a reskin onto ÖBB Rh1116 red and railjet for München-Rosenheim route. If Dovetail Games decided to do the whole München-Salzburg route by incorporating this one then you'll see all variations of DB BR182/ÖBB 1116 Taurus locomotives. First up is the Rapid Transit DB BR182 Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg-Gemünden Freight Locomotive from Rapid Transit DLC then ÖBB 1116 Red ÖBB and Railjet standard for this route and MRCE black BR182 from Hamburg-Lübeck at yards in the route like München Rosenheim & Salzburg via layering.
I think it's not unlikely we'll see the Railjet "soon", as we already have the loco. We know that DTG recylcles every now and then the locos. And having the Railjet-Taurus + Railjet + Austrian routes doesn't seem that unlikely from this perspective. Also more or less the same LZB and PZB, just other signal assets. And I think DTG owns the ÖBB licenses as they've made ÖBB-trains for TS, didn't they?
While this is the main line between Munich, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna (and thus also the Brenner and Budapest), and sees a lot of traffic and varied rolling stock, viewed simply as a route it's got to be the most boring route in Bavaria. I'd much rather see Munchen-Garmisch.
That will be the Slovenian RSSLO 3rd party developer for Train Sim 21 that has ÖBB license. What Dovetail Games can actually do with RSSLO is have them work on München-Rosenheim
Forgot about that one because i knew RSSLO made the Taurus locomotives for the Train Sim 21 Austrian route. By the way thanks for telling me about DTG having ÖBB license that means Dovetail Games can reskin the Hamburg-Lübeck MRCE BR182 into ÖBB1116 for München-Rosenheim route in two versions ÖBB Red with the Innsbruck-Köln-Dusseldorf sleeper train and the Railjet Taurus paint for Railjet München-Salzburg-Budapest service that runs here. Speaking of the ÖBB Taurus Railjet can they actually pick up passengers at Rosenheim for München Hbf or Frankfurt Hbf via Stuttgart Hbf & Augsburg Hbf HMA route? Provided a player who hasn't used DB & MRCE BR182 but decided to get this one for the ÖBB Taurus variant complete with a Cab car.
