I've been working a bit with the Livery Designer over the last few weeks. I've come up with a few creations that I'd like to share with the community. I created all of the paint jobs primarily for myself. They are my personal favorites, both in terms of the selection of original livery and the model. I tried to research the corresponding biographies for each model and to incorporate the results as faithfully as possible to the original. I paid particular attention to implementing the respective logos as accurately as possible, but I must admit that there is a certain learning curve. Nevertheless, I hope that one or two users like my creations, although they´re far from perfect. Have fun with them. I want to start with 4 examples of the BR 101.1 series: 103 101-2, the only locomotive of this series that still exists in oriental red livery: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/157101 103 113-7, this unit was still in regular service until the mid-2010s and is now a museum locomotive: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/163831 103 137-6, one of the few examples that had a red painted frame: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/156920 103 190-5, a typical locomotive in the oriental red livery along with the new Deutsche Bahn logo AG: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/156625
I found the following photo, which was taken in Bremen main station, and thought it might be interesting to design the two locomotives as liveries for the Bremen - Oldenburg route. http://www.die-zugfolgestelle.de/bilder/br110//110303_16107g.jpg Funnily enough, the location actually exists in TSW, but without the overhead line: 110 303-5 is a typical BR 110.3, which was manufactured in 1963, was based in Hanover, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Braunschweig and was painted in all color variants. https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/165174 110 303-5, on the other hand, was only stationed in Hamburg, Braunschweig and Cologne and was never painted oriental red. https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/165198
The 218 series is one of my absolute favorites, with which I grew up in West Germany - born in 1968. 218 146-9 was one of 10 BR 218 locomotives that served from Hagen depot in the iconic grey/orange livery of the CityBahn: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/159872 Some BR 218s were based in the Lübeck depot, which is near my hometown of Neumünster. I have recreated two of them. 218 323-4 was one of many BR 218s that were used in their original color ocean blue/beige until the 2000s: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/160986 218 328-3, on the other hand, was repainted in the oriental red colour scheme in 1988: https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/161080
Just wanted to tell you I appreciate your liveries, especially the ones for the 103 ! Are you open to requests? Do you maybe want to do DB Museum's 103-245 as it is today? Also, would you consider doing fitting TEE coaches for the LFR IC coaches? There are some available as of now, but I think you could do them a lot better
Hi Colin, sorry for my late reply. I wasn’t often in this forum recently. Thank you very much for your kind feedback and I’m delighted to hear that you enjoy my liveries. Regarding your requests I must say that I won’t do a 103 numbered higher than 103 215 because 103 216 to 103 245 got an extended drivers cabin which meant that this locos are 70 cm longer than the former ones. Due to the reason that there are a lot of inaccuracies with the 103 in TSW like the bug spoiler or the DB Logo platform which spoils the use of the newer DB AG, I won’t do a livery based on the longer version. But I’m thinking about doing the TEE coaches, even if I’ve never painted a coach. Currently I’m working on a couple of my favourite BR 101 for the Expert model, but after that I may do the requested coaches for TSW 5, if I’ll find enough pictures of them in high res and if it is possible to do them within the 1000 layers restriction. Thank you for your patience and best regards, Bernd
I like your approach to keep it realistic Looking forward to the 101 Expert repaints too (Fahrtziel Natur maybe?) Would love the coaches from you, but take your time
Sorry to disappoint you again, but in my opinion and with my very poor skills the 101 019-8 „Fahrtziel Natur“ is impossible to recreate in TSW due to livery designer’s tools and the 1000 layers limitation. I‘d had really like to do the 101 042-0 Ecophant livery, but it’s impossible for me because of the layers limitation. I would need to use a minimum of 1200 layers to do it. So please don‘t expect too much.
