    Hi,
My name is Lance or Skyking if you prefer.

I have been away for a long time but just loaded my Train Sim World and Trains Simulator Classic from STEAM. I am a bit confused.

First, I have to buy Train Sim World 2 today because I have to have the Clinchfield add-on. That's easy.

Second, what is the difference between Train Simulator Classic (which says it's the 2022 version) and Train Simulator 2022? I want the latest version of the sim but I want to keep all my in game purchases. What do I need to do?

TIA for you help. Oh and looking for geared locos if any are out there!
    Lance

As to TSC vs TS2022, for all intents and purposes it's just a rebranding. I suppose DTG might offer "new" DLCs with TSC for those who want to pay, but for me it was a simple teeny-tiny update that effected nothing, other than the name change. I suspect this was done to emphasize that, so far as game-engine development is considered, Train Simulator is considered finalized, barring necessary game-breaking bug fixes. From now on, the emphasis is on TSW . . . until it eventually becomes TSW Classic years from now.

As decrepitts notes TC is just the latest version of TS so just let the update go ahead. As is usually the case TS will update to the latest version of the core (which, as far as I can tell, just gains you a new name and background) and you can continue to use the content you already have.
