Hi, I had TSW on PS4. I didn’t end up playing it a lot but I had the following add ons purchased: Peninsula Corridor DB BR 155 DB BR 182 Main Spessart Bahn Northern Trans-Pennine Long Island Railroad Last year I sold my PS4 and got a PS5. I recently decided to get back into train sim and bought TSW2 and installed it to my PS5. From what I read my previous add ons which are part of the preserved collection should be free to install on TSW2… but they aren’t. I can see them as available but it wants me to pay for it again if I try to get any of them. This happens both from the PlayStation store and from inside the games add on menu? How do I address this? I have tried to do some reading but the info I find is confusing and seems usually to relate to the PC…
Did you raise a ticket with customer support? They‘ll probably be best equipped to help you. Other than that, have you tried restoring your licenses? There‘s an option for it somewhere in the PS5 settings. Restoring the licenses basically makes sure that your account has access to everything you‘ve paid for.
I’ll try the restore licences thing on PS5… I tried the dovetail support page but it’s down for me with a message saying the licence for whatever software they use for the website expired in September 2021, lol. That was my first step before trying to post here. edit: restoring on PS5 didn’t work, but I can now submit tickets so I went ahead and put one in.
I’ve solved the issue on my own… here is how I did it in case anyone else with similar problem comes across this thread. If you bought an add on for the PS4 version of TSW, it will make that add on free for the PS4 version of TSW2 but not AUTOMATICALLY for the PS5 version of TSW2. Solve it this way: 1. Go into your purchased library, find TSW2, click it. It will give you the option of PS5 version or PS4 version. Click on PS4. Then click on add ons. You should see all your TSW Preserved collection free. 2. Select each one and start the download. Even if you don’t have the PS4 version of the game installed. 3. Cancel each download right after it starts. 4. Go back to Library, TSW2, but this time select the PS5 version. Now when you go in add ons, all your preserved collection should show as “purchased” and will be free to download and install on PS5. Very stupid way of doing things but I am pretty sure it is Sony’s fault. I suspect this only effects people who used TSW on PS4 and went straight to TSW2 on PS5 (skipping TSW2 on PS4).
