Hello again fellow train enthusiasts! I'm back with another concept for TSW2 and the versions to come. This time it's the newly-built Ebensfield to Erfurt high speed line, which opened in 2016. Whilst there is no stops between Ebensfield and Erfurt where the higher speed trains , there are some other places i'll showcase instead of the stations that would be there. A quick notice that the high speed line starts at Ebenfield, not Nürnburg. Anyways let's begin, shall we?

    Nürnburg HBF

Nürnburg HBF is the main railway station serving the city of Nuremberg in Germany. It is the largest station in north Bavaria and belongs to the 20 stations in the highest category of importance allocated by DB Station&Service.

It is a through station with 22 platforms and lies on major north–south and east–west transportation axes. It offers connections to the major German cities of Leipzig, Berlin, Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Munich, Würzburg, Frankfurt and Regensburg, as well as Linz and Vienna in Austria and Prague in the Czech Republic. Over 450 trains stop here daily and more than 200,000 passengers use the station on average every day. It is also a major hub for public transport in Nuremberg.

The station is located at the intersection of various Intercity-Express, InterCity and EuroCity routes and is the only long-distance station in Nuremberg. These routes generally run to Nuremberg hourly, although some are more frequent as a result of overlapping services.

Long-distance trains travel from here to Munich, Leipzig, Berlin, into the Rhine-Main and the Ruhrgebiet; to Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Bremen and Hamburg as well as Passau and Vienna. An Interregio-Express link runs to Chemnitz and Dresden. Night trains travel to various destinations including the Brussel, Innsbruck, Vienna, Hamburg and Düsseldorf.

    Eierberge Tunnel

The Eierberge Tunnel is a 3756 m long railway tunnel on the new Ebensfield-Erfurt high speed line. It is located on the territory of the Upper Franconian town of Bad Staffelstein and is the southernmost tube of the 106 km long new line.
The structure is the third longest tunnel on the line and its longest in Bavaria. It belongs to the southernmost construction phase of the new line.

Together with a railway embankment, the 219 m long Mainbrücke Wiesen, an 88 m long bridge over floodplains of the Main, the railway overpass Stadelbachbrücke, another railway overpass and a road overpass. The tunnel crosses the ridge of the Egg Mountains. The southern portal is located in the Upper Main Valley near Nedensdorf in the so-called Gottesgarten at an altitude of about 250 m. In front of the south portal, the gravel superstructure is transferred to a fixed roadway. The north portal is located between Stadel and Püchitz.

    Füllbach Tunnel
    [IMG]

The Füllbach Tunnel is a 1113 metre long tunnel near Coburg. As part of the connecting curve Niederfüllbach it lies between the line kilometers 0.418 and 1.531. The building serves the connection of Coburg to the new line Ebensfeld-Erfurt. It is located in the district of Coburg and in the district of Lichtenfels.

The tunnel crosses Höhnberg, south of Grub am Forst. It also crosses the Höhnberg tunnel with the high-speed line. To the north, the line joins the Coburg-Lichtenfels line, after a road overpass. The south sidefollows the junction Niederfüllbach, where the track joins into the high-speed line. Following the high-speed line, the tunnel initially runs in a short straight line. At the height of the south portal of the neighbouring Höhnberg tunnel, the structure passes up to the north portal into a left arch.

    Reitersberg Tunnel
    [IMG]
The Reitersberg Tunnel is a 2975 m long railway tunnel of the Nuremberg-Erfurt high-speed line near Rödental between the lines 111,693 and 114,668. The tunnel is the centrepiece of a 5.6 km section of the line, which also includes cuts, a railway overpass and two road bridges over the line.

The south portal is located near Oberwohlsbach, the north portal near Fornbach, each districts of the Upper Franconian town Rödental, in the district of Coburg. The tunnel crosses the 508-metre-high Hohe Schwenge in the south and the 457-metre-high Reitersberg in the north. The tunnel has a maximum coverage of 90 metres. Layers of the keuper and shell limestone are crossed. The north portal is followed by an incision, the 150-metre-long Fornbachtal Bridge to the south portal.

    Bleßberg Tunnel
    [IMG]
The Bleßberg Tunnel is the longest of 22 railway tunnels of the new Ebensfeld–Erfurt line. The tunnel crosses between Truckenthal and Goldisthal the main ridge of the Hohe Thuringian Schiefergebirge with the Rennsteig. The name is given to the 865 m high Bleßberg, below which the tunnel runs just east of the summit. With a length of 8325.8 m or 8.325 kilometers, it is one of the ten longest railway tunnels in Germany, and the longest tunnel on this particular route. The south portal is located 502.4 m above Sea, the north portal at an altitude of 593.2 m above sea level. The gradient in the tunnel rises continuously with 1.0916 % in the tunnel. The overlap is between 6 m and 330 m. In addition to the Bleßberg (862 m), the building also crosses the Rennsteig near the Pechleite (838.5 m).

    Silberberg Tunnel
    [IMG]

The Silberberg Tunnel is a single-tube railway tunnel of the new Ebensfeld-Erfurt line near Großbreitenbach. With a length according to the planning approval decision of 7407.4 m or 7.404 kilometers, it is, after the Tunnel Bleßberg, the second longest tunnel of the line. The tunnel is also one of the 10 longest railway tunnels in Germany. The building crosses the village of Großbreitenbach and the Upper Möhrenbach valley, which has been placed under protection. The tunnel, next to the Bleßberg tunnel, was considered to determine the construction time for the new line.

    Augustaburg Tunnel
    [IMG]

The Augustaburg Tunnel is a 1404 metre long railway tunnel on the new Ebensfeld–Erfurt line near Erfurt between the 183,637 and 185,041 lines. The structure crosses the Augustaburg ridge, five kilometres west of the Erfurt city centre, near the District of Bischleben. The railway tunnel has a clear height of 9.23 m from the top of the rail and a clear width of 13.64 m, with a footprofile with a useful cross-sectional area of 92 m2 above the top of the rail.

The fixed roadway was installed as an upper structure, which turns into a conventional gravel superstructure near the east portal in the direction of Erfurt. The track distance is 4.5 m. The permissible speed in the tunnel is 230 km/h.

    Erfurt HBF
    [IMG]

Erfurt Hauptbahnhof is the central railway station at Erfurt in Germany It is an important junction on the German rail network, served by numerous local and long-distance rail services. Immediately north of the station is Erfurt's city centre. The station was used by approximately 12.5 million passengers in 2006, an average of about 34,000 per day. The station lies on the Thüringer Bahn, which connects Halle to Bebra. It is served also by the Erfurter Bahn.

It was rebuilt from 2002 to 2008 for the completion of the Nuremberg–Erfurt high-speed railway and the Erfurt–Leipzig/Halle high-speed railway and connects the Berlin–Munich and Frankfurt–Dresden long-distance routes. The unique position of the station at the Willy-Brandt-Platz combines the regional and long-distance trains with perfect connections to the regional bus station, tram services, local buses, taxi cabs, long-distance buses, an underground car park and two bike stations.

And that is all. I know that route may be incredibly long for TSW standards, but i hope they make it this route reality one day. I have only listed some of the 22 tunnels on this route, those that i felt were major. Anyways, have a nice day folks, and see you around!
