Good day all Thought I’d pop a note up for something I noticed to be what seems to be a reliable workaround for the BR 766.2 tutorial. In my early attempts (PS5) of going through this one it would seemingly not proceed past the section just after being instructed to “Set the Train Brake to RUNNING”. The tutorial would enter into a waiting for brakes to charge, but would not advance. What I found you can do is just prior to doing this, ENSURE you toggle the switch to CLOSE the open Left passenger doors first (or left on d-pad). This seems to permit the tutorial to immediately advance to the next step (REVERSER set to forward). Maybe this has been posted, but I couldn’t find anything specific to this. Hope this may help those who want to complete the tutorial and more importantly finish the section on how to drive this loco. Of all the places for DTG to have broken parts, it is most unfortunate when they are actually in the tutorials themselves... for newcomers trying to engage I can only imagine this would be frustrating to say the least. This reminds me of the SB40 tutorial in Sand Patch that the brakes never work when requested seemingly because the “Lead or Dead” is not and cannot be set during it. Once out of the tutorial and in an actual run you can set it and brakes work as expected/designed. When trying to learn these locos, which is hard as it is, it leaves the player wondering what they are doing wrong simply by following the instructions. On the plus side, I LOVE what I have seen content-wise and gameplay in my recent addition of this route!
I note there was mention of closing the passenger doors to move the tutorial along in the Technical Reports section recently, my mistake! I should have looked in other threads more closely...
