    Dear all.

After someone from the team told in a eecent stream, that they'd look here as well and take it serious, I wanted to include some details for Bundesbahn in 1974.

The year in which the add-on is set is 1974. I have a suggestion for this that might still be implemented and would have many advantages. At the beginning of 1974, the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) introduced its turquoise and beige livery, also known as ocean blue and beige. This meant that some UIC-X that were delivered starting end of 1973 featured this design, with the class number still displayed between the door and the first window. These coaches were available with both black and turquoise side sills. If these coaches were included in the add-on, they could also be used for the Mittenwald Railway and Rhine Line in 1984, significantly increasing the level of detail.

... The following designs were in service in 1974:

    Altrot or Old Red: 360, 363, 290, 218

    Cobalt Blue: 110.3

    Chromoxide Green: 140

    TEE: 103.1

    Ocean Blue-Beige: UIC-X coach

In fact it would be even greater, if an ABm225 coach could be used as well, as they were very common on this route as Kurswagen, that would be separated at stations like Heilbronn or Heidelberg and moved to other trains to Wurzburg or Basel for example. At best even the BDms273 were there to complete the UIC-X passenger cars.

The advantages of having them in beige blue as well is that they could be used for much more authentic train consists in like Mittenwaldbahn or Linke Rheinstrecke 1984 timetable.

Silberling coaches with black side sills and class number directly next to the door and window. An early Karlsruher cab car with orange warning marks would be awesome for Eilzuege.

The class number, as it appears in 1989, was not introduced until 1982.

I'd really appreciate you listening and taking up this ideas and details.

    Kind regards

Very small quibble- the 363 wouldn't exist until the 2000s, when the original Maybachs were replaced with Caterpillars. In 1974 all the former V 60s were 260 or 261.

While it is a hair early for a blue/ivory 218, it isn't very wrong and we already have it. Much as I love your suggestions, I have a feeling that new liveries for locos will be kept to the bare essentials (green 140, blue 110)

    Day One for a 211 or 212.

Also would a 215 or 216 be suited to this route and era?

If more people would mention, the more likely it becomes. See, many asked for the UIC-X coaches and now they're coming. As for the V60 being the 260 and not 360....bare with me, I'm getting older.

    Kind regards

I'm not, even though, you're right. I just mentioned the rolling stock already available.

    Kind regards

    It's never enough, is it?

Think about what we'll already gonna get with this DLC... at least as we know now.
-A brand new route, which some people still seem to underestimate how much work goes into this. Especially a vintage one, makes research even more difficult.
-Not just a new loco with the BR 23, but the first German steam loco ingame. With all the bells and whistles (literally) and an update to the ingame steam system.
-UIC-X coaches, which the community has been craving for a long time.
-Most definitely a backdated era-accurate electric loco, likely either a 110 or 140.
-Maybe, just maybe even a backdated era-accurate V60 version, this route offers the perfect opportunity for that.

I'm willing to compromise a little on the rolling stock we got. If the n-Wagen on the route all have blue frames instead of black ones, it's fine. If there's a 218 running around and it has PZB instead of Indusi, it's fine.
Sure, 100% accuracy and realism would be neat. On the other hand that would increase the workload immensely, and TSG have got their work cut out for them with this as it is.

What I agree with is that the UIC-X coaches could be put to good use on Mittenwald and especially Linke Rheinstrecke. Would love to see more "cross-pollination" of DLCs like that :)

Thing is, if we (all) would try to do it perfectly era correct and 100% accurate to RL, there would be no route or any train at all to buy and play with for the players out there. What some people expect here in the forums and out there is simply not realistic for the niche we are working in. There are limits set by the fact what it is. I would risk to say it is way easier to do any car (tire moved) related game and even air planes are easier to do than any train related stuff. And on top those games have a way bigger audience to gain revenue from and so the possibilities are way better for doing extraordinary things.

Please Maik Goltz and AmityBlight , read once more, before accusing someone on demanding anything:

"I'd really appreciate you listening and taking up this ideas and details."

That's the last sentence and it means what it says.

The only thing I'd really appreciate being "done" would be the UIC-X coaches in blue-beige and them being used especially in Mittenwaldbahn and the 1984 timetable for Linke Rheinstrecke. Because thay would be a huge improvement. Okay, the 218 in Altrot is tempting....

Others than that, this was just to give an idea how the 1970s looked like, not that a Silberling in verkehrsrot suddenly appeared.

    Kind regards

And this is highly demanding already :D

Anyways, i meant it more generally, not focused on what you said.

I get it, Maik Goltz, I think historically I've been more sensitive than some to the time-money equation of putting out DLC. I would say, however, that if you can do just one "backdating" please make it the BR 140, since you can't do a 70s route convincingly without one, and in 1974 it couldn't be red.

More generally, thank you to you and the guys at TSG for moving TSW progressively into the German past, (both own-branded DLC and work under the DTG rubric) starting with the 110 and n-Wagen on Bremen 2010, and step by step bringing the Bundesbahn back to virtual life.

I learn about most of the discrepancies in rolling stock, environment, etc. here on the forum.
