18 mm Dumbbells bottom or pop up paired with size 4 kd rig has worked well for me on that lake.

It's actually the "pop up tiger nuts" christine..think it's under either carp baits or stalking baits

Tiger nuts have worked the best for me, but Ive caught them with the 18mm dumb bells too. I caught Cheetah last night with the 20mm float tiger nuts. A couple hours later I caught Lynx twice in a 1hr session with 20mm sink tiger nuts.

Is there something I'm doing wrong when the fish is on the line, any tips would be appreciated.

Something that took me a bit to realize is that large fish like carp and catfish need to be tired out before you go up with your drag. Now that I'm aware, once one is hooked I set my drag to 18 and let them wear themselves down. I only raise my drag if I see that the fish is getting close to a snag. Also, if you are using the 25lb line, the fish with "spit out" the hook very quickly. I guess because its stiffer line, so its easier to dislodge the hook. When I use the 25lb line I keep all hook markers in sight onscreen, and keep my pole selection menu open and ready.

I am using my 9ft paintball rod with 20lb weight, 15mm float, Size 4 silt.

I go to the eastern peg, and when I set up camp I stalk the shallow water to the left of camp. Caught 6 catfish in a row including Leo.

With the update, tension seems to be more in play. Not immediate break if it gets into red.

I tire them out at about 18, then go up to 40 if I have to quickly get them from not growing legs and get them from a bank.

    i take to spain ... waggler 12 , kd rig 4 , iq-d rig 4, blowback rig 4 , baits i take are ... 20mm float tiger nut, 18mm pop up dumbell, 18mm boilie (sink) , 8mm dumbell sink ....

the waggler and 8mm dumbell combo is really good for tench and bream , if you want to try for boss roach , swap the 8mm dumbell for either the bloodworm or dendro worm , ...

i fish the swim where it splits to 3 bits in the deepish water there or in the pool up top with 1 peg when fishing for carp or cats , bream and tench i tend to go a little further down the lake , towards the middle and fish in the margins.

as for drag , i use the 25lbs line and set my drag at 20 and do not touch it , i reel in constantly , ( i would not do this in real life but it works for me ) to keep the line tight , but it is not so tight that the line snaps , the only time have to loosen it is if i let the fish into some reeds or it decides it talking a walk up the bank ... in which case i put drag to 2 , point rod at fish an wait an hope it decides to return to the water .... i have had fish caught like this , it is possible to retrieve fish from up the bank ;)

hope you find this info helpful :)

Buy a size 2 hook from the carp/course hooks then select it then go onto baits then scroll through to the dead baits
