I'm looking to download terrain data for a route I'm working on, but I'm having issues with converting the data for use in game. I'm downloading the data in .TIF format from here (TNM Download v2), and was attempting to convert it according to this tutorial (Railworks America • View topic - TUTORIAL: Downloading DEM / SRTM terrain data). I had previously documented my problems with conversion in the RWA thread (Railworks America • View topic - Unsure about how to convert GeoTIFF files to .BIL files.), but it ultimately didn't go anywhere. I would be grateful for any help with this matter.
What area are you looking for? You can download 1" DEM for most parts of North America and Europe from this map at viewfinderpanoramas.org (hgt) Last updated in 2022. These files can be added directly to the DEM\SRTM folder.
