Seems like DTG based this F7 off 347C, which is currently preserved at the CSRM in Sacramento. And that loco has had that marking since the 1980's HOWEVER, the ATSF F7s in service never had any marking like that. Though 347C, when it was numbered 306C, had Barstow written on the side
So we get pure white headlights again? And a freight coupler on a passenger engine which in all above photographs has a type F "tightlock" coupler on the front pilot?
Thanks... In my country, locomotives have the name of a city from which their maintenance and overhauling are taken care of. Such cities have a 'Locomotive Shed'. My intuition was that a similar thing is there for F7. However, couldn't find a shed/depot for the same at San Bernardino
To be frankly honest, I don't think that's even on the table. Just picture the scene where Matt & JD explain TSW to the Railway board for getting the license and permission XD
Going thru some more research, ATSF 347C, was restored by the Santa Fe Railroad in the 1980's for the California State Railroad Museum. It was given a cosmetic restoration at the ATSF San Bernardino shops, hence why San Bernardino is stenciled on the side.
