DTG_Stephen, this is the fish I dubbed Nessie the other day, given the coloration and location of the catch.
And this one came in the night before, hooked on a #12 float on 12 lb test...Both catches were straight forward battles, just a matter of patience and managing the drag.
Caught Silvertail again tonight all the way on the other end of the lake. Used a more conventional setup, 12 foot carp rod, 25 lb. braid, #4 silt hook, and 18mm bait. It was my first cast of the session, in fact...around 4 AM.
You did it! Good work Derrick! Nessie is also a fitting nickname, just hope the fish doesn't start getting confused having two names.
