This is a quite short route, in the north of the Netherlands. It is a simple route from the capital city of Fryslân to the capital city of Groningen (state). It serves local and express trains and is 54,1 km (33,6 miles) long.

    It has the following stations:
    - Leeuwarden (Ljouwert in Frysk)
    - Leeuwarden Camminghaburen
    - Hurdegaryp
    - Feanwâlden (Veenwouden in Dutch)
    - De Westereen (Zwaagwesteinde in Dutch)
    - Buitenpost (Bûtenpost in Frysk)
    - Grijpskerk
    - Zuidhorn
    - Groningen

On this line, the RS1 train stops at all stations. The RE1 stops at Leeuwarden and Groningen, calling at Feanwâlden, Buitenpost and/or Zuidhorn and Groningen. During rush hour, there is an additional RS1 service from Zuidhorn to Groningen. The travel time is between 35 and 37 minutes for the RE1 trains and 46 minutes for the RS1 trains.

Arriva Nederland operates the local trains within Fryslân and Groningen (state). Up to last year they used the GTW-D trains from Stadler, now they also drive with the Stadler Wink train.

The trains are on more lines to see from Leeuwarden and Groningen and are usable as AI trains.

The east side depot is in the east of Groningen city, past Groningen Europapark station. The other one is directly past Leeuwarden station westward.

The trains can drive very frequently. Sometimes it is twice an hour per RE1 as RS1 per direction.

About half of the route is single-track, so keeping the train on time is very important. The line is not electrified and is equipped with ATB-NG.

With the Zwolle - Groningen route Leeuwarden and Groningen will have the ICMm and SNG as AI trains to fill up the stations and emplacements.

Bring it on to the game by the way you just need to link this Bremen Oldenburg route by building the missing 129 km Bahnstrecke Groningen Bad Nieuwschans Leer(Ostf) Oldenburg. You now the complete Leeuwarden Leer (Ostf) Oldenburg Bremen Hbf route via Groningen.

The route from Groningen to Oldenburg(Oldenburg) can't be made yet. Currently the part between Bad Nieuweschans (NL) and Ihrhove is under construction and it is not clear how the route here will look like. After the service has been restarted, it is waiting for the schedule too, especially for the plans for a direct train from Groningen to Bremen.

This suggestion from Leeuwarden to Groningen has been made due to the Stadler Wink and GTW-D and the high frequency of services.
