A collection of Network Rail on track machines and equipment would really add to the realism of the game.

This is a Network Rail tamper train. It would be cool to have as it would sit in siding during the day like in real life but during the night it would be out and about doing engineering work. AI and players would operate these trains. These units are used to make sure the ballast is firm.

This is the rail grinding machine. I don't have a very strong understanding of what it does but it still looks cool. Rail-Grinding-Contract-1412x706-1.jpg

Next up we have the Network Rail stone blower. I can take a guess and say it is used for flowing stones off the tracks? It still looks cool. 34504460624_66edb63dd2_b.jpg

There is one more train that would be included in the pack and that is the network rail rebel. It is described as a 'workshop on wheels' by network rail.

Now, I am no expert in on track machines so dovetail games would have to figure the operation of these units out with network rail.

SEHS - These trains would be kept at Hoo Junction, gillingham depot and maybe at Ashford. They would also be situated at any sidings near their place of work. At night time they would be deployed to various locations on the line to perform their duties. During the day, they could travel to different sidings to get closer to their work.

Scotrail Express - We currently don't have access to Haymarket depot, where network rail equipment is usually stored. So, we could get that depot opened in the game. Or we could just move the trains to east field depot They would perform essentially the same job as on SEHS with movements during the day and works during the night.

MML - If Derby R.T.C. is included in the midland main line then this could be a game changer. Most of network rails equipment is stored there so it would be a missed opportunity if dovetail didn't do something. Various movements would take place because trains would be driving to places like Haymarket Depot.

London Commuter - There are lots of sidings and various depots on this line so lots of network rail equipment could be placed in sidings.

GWML - There are also a lot of sidings and depots on this route swell so there are lots of opportunities here.

I would pay £10 to £15 for this loco pack.

I am also writing a post about network rail test trains if you want to go and read that!

I've seen a couple of these from time to time. Even stationary ones would add a bit more flavour to routes.

Nice idea and opens up the possibility of Sunday or overnight engineering operations. The downside is, a lot of time in engineering possessions is spent waiting your slot to get in and do your bit of the work. The rail grinder when operating with the stones down, is restricted to something like 20 MPH so you are spending a long time to go not very far.
