Hello, I do like the new features of the new 2D Map but it's very frustrating with the constant crashes when either using it in the Free Roam Modes or just using it for moving locations or checking where you are when running without the HUDD on.
Yep, agreed. The crashes in free roam are a pain and basically make free roam a lottery and borderline unusable. Also, the amount of slowdown they cause is ridiculous.
This has happened to me every time I have used the 2D map on the last few sessions. I thought it was just a WCML problem but it's just happened on Tees Valley too. I really hope they are going to fix this bug soon because the frustration when it occurs is becoming incredibly tedious and I am finding myself just shutting down my Xbox and not restarting in a huff.
Just had a quick spin in the training centre, spawned a 101, set a path, opened the map again to set the points.....freeze. This is unacceptable, a fundamental part of the sim is broken. They need to patch this ASAP.
This evening, West Cornwall Local free roam with the 101. Went from Penzance to St Ives. Arrived at St Ives, switched ends and set cab up for the return journey. Open map to set route. Frozen. Dovetail, please say you have a fix for this in the next update. TSW5 was released almost 2 months ago, I can’t believe this is still not fixed.
Just to add to this - my son has just been cursing TSW5 on PS5 because of the game getting stuck in the map. He was in Birmingham Cross City at the time, but it’s also happened in Tees Valley a lot. The train continues driving in the background, so it’s not a freeze or a crash, but you can’t exit the map and have to restart the game.
I'm getting this more frequently. I'm on Series S. I can use the map a few times before it just freezes and I can't exit it. It's a pain when you're using fast travel or checking an AI service. Edit. Also I swear that after a few uses of the map it resets whatever weather preset you have with clear skies.
On the series s, I have had one 2d map crash, this was at Frankfurt HBF. Havent had it before especially as I spawn into frankfurt a lot.
