I been looking for new pc to buy but sadly on a cheap on as under 500 what pc tower only do you recommend but have to be 1TB or more
A medium spec gaming machine is not going to run to less than £1000 as I have found pricing up a replacement. You need a decent motherboard and CPU, I7 though you could probably get away with a high end I5. A RTX graphics card in the xx60, or xx70 range (not sure about the new 5050’s), 32Gb of RAM and I would say a minimum of 4Tb storage including a SSD for your C drive. Cap that off with a decent PSU, 700 or 750w to give a bit of future proofing.
For your budget, you may get a better deal by buying something used. For example: Acer P03-640/i5-12400f/16GB DDR4/1TB HDD+256GB SSD/RTX 3060Ti/W11/B CUSTOM/i5-12400F/16GB DDR4/1TB SSD/RTX 4060 Ti 8GB/W11/B
Indeed, Chris. Also buying the components and putting it together yourself could save a bit of money if you know what you are doing. However I got stung by that having ordered a motherboard from Overclockers UK, which was faulty. RMA'd it but they claimed I had damaged the pins in the CPU socket (patently not true) and declined a refund or replacement. Oh and to the above, add a decent case if you want decent connectivity at the front and sufficient hard drive bays plus if (like me) you still use them a DVD burner/drive.
In preparation for TSW6, I bit the bullet and replaced my 6yo PC (with a midlife RTX 2070 kicker) by: Processor AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor (4.70 GHz) RAM 64 GB (2x32 GB) GPU nVidia GeForce RTX 5070 (12GB) Storage 2 TB SSD + 4 TB HDD I hope that will be good enough to sustain me for another 6 years, but it didn't leave that much change from £2k. It runs everything I can throw at it in TSW5 at 60Hz in 4k on Ultra settings, which is what I'd hoped for.
