Hmmm... only played one scenario so far.... 1Z37 0718 Edinburgh to Blackpool North, and you get the right away, and the signal just sits on red indefinitely. You can tab past it (which gives a shunting signal)... but then the next signal sits on red until you tab past it as well. I didn't go any further than the second signal. I gave up at that point. No idea is this is intentional, but there's no other traffic causing it, and I waited a very long time at each signal.

Adam's usually very fastidious about his scenarios but of course still only human, I'm just worried and hoping that the new update hasn't broken anything with the SEP.

Probable, yes. I wasn't suggesting anything else really. It's so obvious that you'd have to create the scenario and just never test it. I sat there for a good while, and saw no traffic on the map that would account for it, so something isn't right. It's always possible that tabbing for the shunting signal was intentional, but I see no reason why mainline service just wouldn't get a green light out of platform 4 of Preston, and to then get a red when joining the Fylde line if there's no other traffic in section ahead is not really likely either, and even if there was something ahead, it should only be a minute of less before you got a single yellow.

Sorry about that. JT's signals are it a bit temperamental. And unfortunately AP's Signal EP doesn't work with JT's signals, only UKPro ones. I'll upload an update to the pack asap to tell the player to TAB the first two signals the player passes leaving Preston.

Ahh... that makes sense. I am using the AP Signal pack. Still not had time to run any of the other scenarios... I'll try this weekend. If there are any other issues, I'll let you know.

I'm afraid 3Q82 has issues as well. You sit at the signal exiting the carriage sidings indefinitely, and the tab key doesn't even do anything this time. All the signals seem wrong. While waiting a 158 came in to Blackpool and just SPADs through all the on signals into Blackpool.

Looks like Northern Lines doesn't play nice with Signal EP, so OTS need to patch it.

I have ran one scenario so far and it worked perfectly fine. Can’t remember the service number if the scenario but was the 4 car class 150 one if that helps.

Yes, the ex midland one? Yes, that worked fine here as well. The route clearly has issues with the AP pack... hardly Adam's fault. Do you have the Signal EP? Is so, try 3Q82 if you have the required DLC, see if you get the same issues.

The signal EP will only work if the route uses UK Pro signals. I'm not at my PC so can't check but think it might use JT signals.

Edit: JT signals have a "Trigger Tab" marker that might help is situations like this. I'll try to give it a try when I'm next at my PC. See here.

I live in Layton. Blackpool North is nearer to me than Layton station.

the signal pack won’t work on the route as the route uses JT signals which the signal pack won’t touch

So why are these scenarios not working? I made a scenario earlier.... just put a loco on platform 4 of preston, and got the same issue of the signal just staying on red until tabbed, then receiving a shunt signal. So that can't be Adam's fault, and if the AP pack just ignores the JT signals then it can't be the signal EP... so what is causing it?

That depends where in Layton you are :) There are people in Layton who are absolutely closer to Layton than BPool North.

However... Layton station used to be called Bispham station, which may help you understand why it's located where it is.

Oh, that's the one right before Blackpool. I imagine it must be a lovely place for photography.

Nah... as a rail enthusiast, the only thing you see on this line is class 195/331 and the occasional 319 and Pendolino. Once a month the test train comes in, using 37s, but other than the occasional railtour, it's quite a boring line from a "trainspotting" perspective. When something interesting comes through though, it's not a bad location.

There's an area of fields just east of Layton that offers good views as well...
    _DSC4821.jpg
However... the vast majority of the time, it's just 195s, 331s, and the occasional Pendolino.

I meant more for the views. I figure, being a separate line off the beaten path, the variety was weak. Haven't heard much of the 331 to this point. I see they also run Leeds to Bradford Forester and Skipton.

Only Leeds is a direct service from Blackpool. There are no direct services to Forster Square. You would need to change at Bradford Interchange. There are no direct services to Skipton either.

331/195s are awful things, with really horrible seats. The sim really needs them to be accurate and current though, but in real life, I hate the damned things.

Ok, just downloaded the new version and installed it, but I'm afraid it still does all the same things. Red light at P4... need to tab past to get a shunting signal....
    24010_20230514180420_1.jpg
...and still a red at Fylde junction that you need to tab past.

Try going a bit closer to that red at Fylde junction before stopping. I had to tab the first signal (at P4) and the second (at Fylde) turned green when i got quite close.

It shouldn't be red at all, and there's no reason for the signal at P4 to be red either. I know I can tab past them LOL.
