My idea for a new game mode/feature for TSW is called Build a Journey, the idea is you select a number of timetable services or scenarios from one or multiple routes to add to a custom playlist that you can customize to give you a linear gameplay experience without having to go back into the main menu. For example I could create a custom Journey and call it "EWS operative" and I would choose multiple services across different routes that featured freight moves so I would have some services from GWE, SEHS, MML, ECW etc all in one place. If I wanted a mixed bag Journey featuring services from all over the world utilizing dozens of different routes and trains I could and it would save a lot of time going back to the menu and deciding what to play for an hour. Maybe you could even share custom journeys in Creators Club to share ideas. I think it would be a solid addition to the game that would definitely keep me coming back at least and it shouldn't be too difficult to implement into the game.
Sometimes, I browse the Awesome Service Mode thread, would be great if I could put my favourite runs from there into a playlist.
sounds like a variation of some kind of career mode where you "learn the ropes" and eventually make it into long-distance traffic
Not a bad idea. Essentially you are compiling your own Journey mode. Or you could use it to create a sequential driver’s “diagram” with the caveat of course saving the game on a subsequent run will probably not restore properly when you next load it.
Sounds nice. Probably would not make playlists myself but I would download playlists if there is a good route DJ around. I always play in Journey mode but sometimes I wonder if the one who made the playlist also played them in that order.
Little Update: Matt was streaming last night and I asked him about this suggestion and he said he actually liked the idea which was cool! So if anyone wants this feature in the game show your interest and you never know
