My route proposal is the new north main line. This route is set in the 1988 and would run from London Paddington to West Ruislip. This can also be used on my Chiltern main line In the 1960's. The route also includes the green Ford branch which is two miles long to West Ealing then carries on for another six miles to go to Paddington. Brief overview: The new north main line was a route that was built by the great western and great central joint railway In 1904. The route is roughly 14 miles long. There is no stations between South Ruislip and Paddington as they were all closed in 1947 to 1948 all except green Ford (original mainline) which closed in 1963. The green Ford to West Ealing branch line opened in 1903. It is double track throughout and has five stations. There is also a triangle on each end of the branch Station list: New north main line: West ruislip, South ruislip, London Paddington Green Ford branch: Greenford, South greenford, Castle bar park, Drayton green, West Ealing, Ealing Broadway, Acton main line, London Paddington Rolling stock: BR class 115 BR class 117 BR class 121 BR class 122 Scenarios: (Difficulty level 2) Loophole stopper- Drive a class 121 from London Paddington to London Paddington via west Ealing and greenford then going via the new north main line stopping at all stations. (Difficulty level 1) Sleepy stopper- Drive this nighttime NSE regional service formed of a single class 121 unit from greenford (underground) to London Paddington calling at all stations except for south greenford. (Difficulty level 4) Devious diversions- With London Marylebone and the greenford branch closed for repair work, all services are diverted to London Paddington. This means there will be a high influx of traffic meaning there is going to be heavy delays and red signals. Your task is to drive this semi fast class 117 service from west ruislip to London Paddington. (Difficulty level 2) Startup procedure- Startup this class 115 unit at old oak common then drive it to Paddington then drive all the way to West Ruislip via the new north main line. (Difficulty level 3) Double trouble- With extra services on the greenford branch due to an FA cup match near Ealing Broadway. BR have created a formation of a class 115 and class 122 to cope with the extra demand. Drive this service from west ruislip to Ealing Broadway calling at all stops to pick up the match supporters. Layers: The class 52 and class 47 can be layered on to fast services on the great western main line. The class 101 can be layered onto commuter services and could be layered into timetable mode. Also the class 37 from WCL and the class 31 could be layered onto freight services on the new north main line and on the great western main line between Acton T.C and Ealing Broadway. Additional info: All the locos can be used on GWE services. They can also be used to make my Chiltern main line in the 1960's a 1988 route that was pre Marylebone IECC. it can also be an extension to that route as many of the steam services went from London Paddington. Price: The route would cost £17.99
A more complete branch lines of the Great Western would be better and have all other branches between Paddington and Reading included both freight and passenger. I would pay full route price for that. Otherwise a great suggestion. However I am not sure if it should be recent era or vintage because some of the branches went further/to other destinations/to larger more grand stations.
The route would look much better in vintage times as it was before BR made a mess of the route by singaling it when Marylebone IECC opened
