Listening to one of my favourite songs that came out of American music, when I was 25, was the Arlo Guthrie classic Steve Goodman song, The City of New Orleans. It’s stood the test of time for over 50 years, and I am sorry if this has been mentioned in the suggestions previously so forgive me, but it got me thinking that New Orleans to Memphis, Tennessee or longer to Chicago, would be a great route to have in the game with a Illinois Central locomotive to drive it. I would really love to see this in the game oneday hopefully please. The train looks sympathic. I like the speculators cab with the glass roof. This would be nice to sit in. The route as a single line through rural region is also exactly what I like. And if DTG ever would make it, they already would have a song for the trailer.
Sadly, Canadian National licensing would be a pain to get to work with this route. For whatever reason, DTG's licensing with the CN doesn't cover their fallen flags. This was seen when they forced DTG to pull G-Trax's B&LE route off of sale for TSC. Not only that but DTG with their lack of getting references in the US, and the halting of retro route makes this route basically a no go....
Along with F-Units or E-Units for the City of New Orleans, this route could include an IC GP10 (rebuilt GP9) and SD40A (SD40 with an SD45 frame so a larger fuel tank could be integrated) for freight services.
