Since the gwe route doesn't go to Bristol it would be nice to have a Bristol commuter route that goes from Bristol temple meads to Severn beach with stations Bristol temple meads, Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road, montipelier, Redland, clifton down, sea mills, Shirehampton, Avonmouth, St Andrews Road and Severn beach. The trains that I want to see are the class 166 and class 158.
Maybe we could also have the lines towards Swindon and Newport as that would add to the experience, but does sound like a good idea as it is
Set it back a few years and you could have Class 143, 150 and 153 (or 155) in addition to Valenta HST's. Go back a few more years and you could have Class 108 DMU's on the local services, Class 47 or even Class 45 layered in on NE/SW services in addition to Valenta HST's. To provide a logical termination point west of the city you would probably need to run down to Weston Super Mare. You would also want to include the freight only line from Stoke Gifford to Hallen Marsh and set the route when the Bulk Handling Terminal at Avonmouth was still active (along with West Wharf) sending several coal trains a day to Didcot Power Station.
Good ide3a and if you're wondering 143 Pace Sprinters 150 153 155 can form a longer train thanks to BSI Couplers. Towards the end of Class 143 Pacer the rear unit was a Sprinter 150 153 155 156 & 158
Nice idea, although I think it could be better with the addition of the docks down at Avonmouth as well as Bristol Parkway, Newport and Bath Spa.
