Hi - Please add more details to your suggestions such as station list, pictures, scenrios etc etc. I have a suggestion of this route that is a good example of how to layout a route that you can find HERE

It would be better done in the 70s or 80s really.

If Im being honest Id disagree - We already have the class 37 in two routes already in that era - I personally think this is one of those routes thatd be better modern or in a way earlier era. a 70-80s route with the 37 as the only traction just would be a bland rolling stock copy paste.

No you could have 26s as well as the 37s so there would be more variety in services back in the 70s or 80s. Modern it would be a single 158 running up and down. At least from the 37s and 26s we would be able to have a good view of the amazing scenery of the area.

You could have class 24's and 26's if it was set in the early to mid 1970's. Freight and parcels traffic too. I wouldn't mind a modern iteration of it but personally I can't see so much scope set in the modern period.

Classic 70’s with 24’s and 26’s would make this a Day One purchase for me and I suspect many others.

Indeed, but there appears to be an embargo on anything British from around 1963 to 2010ish!

Maybe the 3D modellers and sound guys who brought us the existing great classic diesels are no longer with DTG which means they don’t have resources to do other than bland modern EMU’s. Otherwise why have not had any Type 2’s, or even a Class 50, 55 and 56 by now?

Maybe, but I hope that isn't the case. I would love to drive a Sulzer type 2 through the Highlands or on a Cardiff to Crewe service along the Welsh Marches in TSW. Sadly I can't see it happening at the moment unless a new third party whose interest is in that period comes along. As much as Matt seems to want to introduce more BR period stuff, it seems the accountants might be the barrier to it happening.
