So I've noticed rivet Games have recently been hinting at making a Scottish route. Specifically local to them with a Class 385. Here is a screenshot of a couple of their posts. Rivet Games Scottish Route Hint by TSW Nathan posted Oct 5, 2022 at 6:08 PM Shortly after the hints were posted a UK route by Rivet Games appeared in the roadmap. Coincidence...I think not. Let me know your thoughts below. Personally I'd like it to be any route with a Class 380 (wich seems likely because the new route will have EMU's and will be set 2010+). I'd like it to be Ayshire Coast but I think that's too long for Rivet Games. Next one that jumps to mind is the Inverclyde Line. That is a contender but is still probably too long. Based on the fact they said it would be local to them and would feature the Class 385 I think of Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk. But that is probably too long as well. So one of the most likely options is the Paisley Canal Line. Features pretty much every Scottish EMU including the Class 385 and Class 380. But that's my opinion, Let me know your thoughts below. 20220801_113539 by TSW Nathan posted Aug 7, 2022 at 5:16 PM
Sorry matt#4801, I have included the screenshot now. Just forgot. Here it is here as well: Rivet Games Scottish Route Hint by TSW Nathan posted Oct 5, 2022 at 6:08 PM
There is another post about maybe they will make there local route soon but I can't seem to find that
A screenshot of what looks like Partick station is in the public realm which suggests it will be either the Argyle or North Clyde line.
As far as rolling stock goes, the possibilities are.... Class 314 Class 318 Class 320 Class 334 Class 380 Class 385 Class 303 as classic stock This covers classes used on both Argyle and North Clyde lines and will depend on exact year represented.
CLASS 380!!!!! CLASS 385!!!!!! . There isn't an emjoi that can describe how excited I am right now!!!!
Thank you for the screenshot. I will included it in the first post as part of proof. This is very exciting!
Another Route that would make sense would be Glasgow Queen Street - Alloa - Edinburgh. Because this goes through Stirling and Features the Class 385
Two hints from Rivet Games so far. I wonder what we will find out next? Rivet Games on Facebook Hint at Scottish Route by TSW Nathan posted Oct 8, 2022 at 1:27 PM for those that don't know the station is Partick. Rivet Games Scottish Route Hint by TSW Nathan posted Oct 5, 2022 at 6:08 PM
What happens if you have Class 380 & 385 from the new route then layer to Cathcart Circle you will get 2018-2019 timetable 380 & 385 peak trips on Cathcart Circle
The Partick image is likely from their Suburban Glasgow route for TSC, Rivet have a habit of sharing WIP images from already released content for some reason. And before you ask, they probably won't make that route for TSW because A). it was largely made by a 3rd party with Rivet only adding in some improved station models B). it's a fairly new release that might not seem worthwhile duplicating when so many other unrepresented routes could be made instead. I.e. don't look too deeply into it.
As much as I would love to see those trains the Class 380 does not run on the North Clyde/Argyll Line
I think the screenshot of Partick was something to throw us off. It might be a main line. I'd love it to be the Fife Circle
The model of Partick Interchange posted by Rivet plays right into my hopes of it being some variation of the North Clyde / Argyle lines. With them already doing part of the route as far as Bellgrove on the PC they will have a lot of data on the route already. It has lots of potential for future expansion, a varied timetable and different scenarios. Different branches operate the line and combine on a core section of the route to make a 3 minute service at Partick Interchange. Current services Queen St Low Level: Balloch - Airdrie Milngavie - Springburn Helensburgh - Edinburgh Glasgow Central Low Level: Dalmuir - Motherwell/Larkhall/Cumbernauld If it were released in phases Balloch - Airdrie and Milngavie - Springburn would be a good place to start. Phase 2 could expand at either ends for Helensburgh - Edinburgh, where the core of the route is already done. Phase 3 could add in the Central Low Level services which would add in a whole new section of route eastwards of Partick. They already know a lot about the Class 320’s too. I’d be hoping for the addition of the 334’s. Class 318’s also operate on the route. If it turns out that the Partick model was just a false flag then I’d assume the flagship route of Glasgow Queen St to Edinburgh with the class 385 would be an obvious contender. Won’t be a patch on the North Clyde for the variation of services and scenery though.
I believe the model of Partick was to throw us off. I think the route will be in Scotland, Will feature the Class 385 but I don't think it will be ethier the North Clyde or Argyll Lines
It could be Glasgow to Edinburgh or Glasgow to Lanark. The only thing I'm certain on at the moment is it will have a Class 385
if its Glasgow - Edinburgh it usually around 55min - 1hr 10min journey I think. I would like to see longer services that hit 2hr+
Interesting for me how rivet will implement their rolling stock. I like to get more from scotrail, and on top its right where rivet has their office. We only have the 314, so will they eventually bring more than just 1 new train? Or maybe they plug cathcart with the other route. Whatever comes, looking definetly forward to it.
Helensburgh to Edinburgh would be perfect for that kind of length. Nice mix of urban stopping and more rural interurban service through central Scotland.
Yea me too. Hopefully whatever they do it will have a Class 380 to layer into CCL. I just hope it isn't a low level route.
I would prefer something more mainline with more modern trains but we will just have to wait and see.
Rivet games says they really want to tell us and they can't wait to. They might be waiting for DTG to announce their route so they can announce theirs at the same time
Indeed. I was on the West Highland Line today and I just love listening to the train go clicking and clacking along the track. It might be slow but it lets you take in the sights. Rivet games asked me what section of the WHL I thought would be good. I thought Glasgow Queen Street to Creinlarach or Oban to Creinlarach. I just love the route and the trains on the route. Such a fantastic journey and well worth the money!
I have no idea on the timeline but if they know the route is going to be released, I don’t see what all the secrecy is about. We don’t need a date just yet, but by telling us what we can expect, It allows discussion and hype to build up around the upcoming route.
Still though. I'm hyped up enough and a little bit impatient. I suppose it's just because I can't wait! (literally). Hopefully we will hear more soon. I'm very excited!
I’m the same mate. Do we know what the most popular Scottish routes were on Train Sim Classic? It may be a decent way to gauge what Rivet might be doing.
sure it won’t be too long. It is exciting and the speculation kind of makes it fun. I also am really looking forward to seeing what Rivet and DTG have in the works. And like yourself I’m rooting for Scottish routes too as that’s where I’m from.
Yea, me too. If you read my signature you'll see I'm from Ayshire. I'm loving all this speculation too I just really, really, really want to know what route it is.
