    Hey guys!

Our Screenshot Contest starts again tomorrow, and before we go back I would like to have another look at the way we are choosing our themes. I think we should give you a bit more control over this choice, so from now on, every new contest thread will also have a poll offering ten themes that you can vote for. A theme with the most votes will become next week's screenshot contest theme!

All themes will be randomisd so they won't be following the specific list below. If a theme appears in the poll twice, one of the entries will be replaced.

When a theme is chosen, it gets eliminated from the list and won't be featured in the poll anymore. This is why some of the most common themes, such as Freestyle or country-specific themes are repeated to make sure they are featured multiple times.

NB! This list had some Steam and Heritage themes added as TS1 currently supports these.

NB! The list of themes might change throughout the year to accommodate new releases and any changes that might occur with the game.

Below is a list of 63 themes, this should cover us for the rest of the year, but please feel free to add your suggestions in the comments below, the more is always better:

Honestly I think we shouldn't have country-specific themes. It's annoying for some people who don't have much content from a specific country. For example, when there's a Germany screenshot contest, me and a lot of others can't participate because we don't have any decent German stuff.

I think what you're really saying is you don't like driving German routes. Anybody who's got TS in the last five years will have at least one good German route, more if they've updated their base content, which they probably have to get the other bundled routes.

I have the South Africa Outeniqua Choo Tjoe route. I never used it much but I have it.

I feel like Asia would be a more logical choice for a location for a contest theme over South Africa, as there would be more routes available.

There are two South African routes from DTG, and a further one in development, though there hasn't been any recent update on it.

No, I mean I don't have any good-looking German routes. All I have is Munich-Augsburg, which is really old and not very photogenic, and Hamburg-Lubeck, which is mostly straight and extremely uninteresting.

And when there's a United States screenshot contest, me and a lot of others can't participate because we don't have any decent United States stuff ;-)

Dmitri, isn't "Worldwide" in effect just a duplication of "Freestyle"?

BTW, I think country specific themes are great as it gets me to go out on routes I don't normally use.

If red signals and green signals, why not yellow signals, or mixed signals, or groups of signals?

maybe it would be cool to have a caption with the winning screenshot on the loading screen since pretty much everyone gives a caption when submitting their screenshot

I'd love that Meeper5. It adds more character. Honestly I'd also like the old format for the screenshot info on the loading screen. I understand that it's done so you can see more of the image but some people might actually not see the little bar at the bottom of the screen.

Unfortunately, no text can be used on the loading screens unless it designates the name of the route/loco and the nickname of the author. Otherwise, any English text would have to be localised into multiple languages as we show loading screens in all territories.

I think it could be fun to have people posing for a photo in front of the train. For example:

"Stand to the right a bit...No, left a bit. That's it! Now smile for the camera..."

Most people probably have a photo similar to this somewhere in the family photo album.
