Well if the [edited - JD - surprise] find its way to tsw, really nice. Unfortunately in my opinion skyhook struggles with creating rolling stock. Just basic implementation of systems & poor sound mixing / no records. They really have to convince me first since i dont buy at day 1 anymore.

Given the cat is irretrievably out of the bag, and not mentioning the route specifically, are Skyhook working with Just Trains on this? Given JT’s massive experience of certain parts of England with the Asset bank to match, it seems like a very odd decision for Skyhook to have gone down this particular road themselves and start from scratch. I’d (perhaps incorrectly) assumed this particular route would be exactly where JT would start their TSW journey. Do DTG hold any sway with 3rd party route releases? I would hope that there is a big picture somewhere that everyone is working to If the two are working together then I’m very cautiously optimistic for this one. If it’s Skyhook on their own then considerably less so. Either way, it’s about time we saw a route with 2 new trains. Just do them justice please, particularly the sounds. Rehashed will not cut the mustard.
I really hope JT are working with Skyhook. I really don't want a sub-par local route which I've requested and hoped for, for a long time. Fingers crossed it's decent and it could open up an extension by JT either North or further South.
If JT were able to bring this particular route into TSW (with Skyhook if it’s mutually beneficial), with an initial 2 trains and a further unit per extension it could genuinely be game defining. I fear Skyhook have gone rogue and perhaps meant that’s now not going to happen, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The ‘thing’ is very much within JT’s wheel house, and after Rivet’s attempt at a certain piece of stock, I’d be more comfortable if 2 devs worked on it. What I don’t see however is Skyhook, JT & DTG all having a piece of the pie, seems like the revenue would become far too lean for it to be split 3 ways.
I agree but given JT were announced as joining TSW back around Christmas 2021 and we've heard nothing from them as they're getting to grips with the tools. I have a sneaky feeling they'll be able to offer Skyhook their expertise on this route while still getting to grips with everything.
One of the best routes I ever owned in Train Simulator 20xx was made by one of DTG’s staff, a lovely and talented guy called Derek Siddle, their Art Director it was centred on Bishop Auckland in the pre Beeching days and had many many now long gone lines, which had been built not long after the birth of the railways at Shildon for coal transport. I would LOVE to see that re-worked for TSW and would buy it in a heartbeat. But I don’t think this line is the one about to be released, for which I will have to wait until tomorrow
There is a slot on the Sunday night stream where they will be reveling the surprise. Those of us who know / found out by accident are embargoed until then.
To give you a hint. It’s a special route that runs up north that reuses a station we already have in game… except the route we are getting isn’t going from the particular station
I may be wrong but I can't believe they would be stupid enough to use rehashed sounds for either train. AP have excellent recordings for both so they would be mad not to use those.
Well it's good that we're finally getting [Removed - JD - Surprise], with hopefully a possible future extension to [Removed - JD - Surprise], and be able to drive the [Removed - JD - Surprise]. I see JD is proactively plugging the leak for [Removed - JD - Surprise], not surprising really as everyone will find out about [Removed - JD - Surprise] in due course anyway. I await with pleasure the inevitable enhancement mod for [Removed - JD - Surprise] by the now legendary Unofficial Enhancement Crew. Let's hope the [Removed - JD - Surprise] sounds will be up to scratch, and the [Removed - JD - Surprise] is simulated which the [Removed - JD - Surprise] is known for. (As you may have guessed I redacted the post myself just to save JD time on his weekend off)
May I be the first to complain that Wick to Penzance won't include an extension to Sicily and doesn't come with an Electrostar and Stephenson's Rocket?
