Well Hello to all, I'm new to this sim. Was looking for US locos but seems to be none in the academy. Tried the Drive and got a sim up but then got stopped. any help is appreciated.
Welcome to the community. I am afraid I cannot help as I am not by my machine and have not used Academy. This forum is very helpful. I am sure someone will have the answer.
Hi! I can believe I can help you. It does seem to be a little strange that you say there is no American locomotives, because here is what happens for me So as you know you just press the Academy button on the menu here And then it should lead you here with an American Diesel (The SD70MAC), there are lots of different academy scenarios, for example the SD70MAC (as I have shown), the Class 170 DMU, the BR189 and the Fowler 4F. Please let me know if you can find the SD70MAC in the Academy scenarios here. (If you scroll down you can also find scenarios for topics such as, Controls, Driving, Objectives, Safety and Signalling)
One way of trying a new loco or route is Quick Drive Pick a loco and then the route and from where you wish to drive between. Most of the time you get a clear run and you dive along, stopping if you want to, getting used to what you have. Have a look at the Manual for each DLC for more info about the different switches and things the are in Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Manuals
No problem, and I can help you with your issue where you said you got a sim up and then your train stopped. This is most likely because you passed your final destination, here is how to select a destination. Click on the box within the red circle that I have drawn on Train Sim. And it will bring you to this, where you will be able to select where you start, and where you stop. And you can see the details of your destination where I have drawn the red circle, it will give the name of the destination and then a hand next to it which means you stop at that location. There are 2 other signs other than the hand that can appear there. Person walking = pick up passengers. Hand pointing = Go past that location without stopping. Underneath it there will be an @ symbol, as you can see in my image next to is just --;--, this indicates what time you are meant to be at the location. If you can get there any time, it will be --:--, other wise it will be something like 12:03 for example. You'll also be able to see how far you are from your destination and your ETA which means Estimated Time of Arrival. I hope this helps you.
