    Desiro HC

The Desiro HC (High Capacity) is a type of electric multiple unit (EMU) train built by Siemens Mobility. It is designed for regional and commuter rail services, combining high capacity with modern comfort and energy efficiency. The train features a hybrid design with single-deck end cars and double-deck intermediate cars, allowing for both high seating capacity and easy accessibility.

    Desiro HC in Germany

In Germany, the Desiro HC operates on several regional rail networks. Some of the key routes and operators include:

    1. Rhein-Ruhr-Express (RRX) – Operated by National Express and VRR, the Desiro HC is a core component of the RRX network, connecting cities like Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, and Essen.

Baden-Württemberg (Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg) – The Desiro HC is used on several regional routes in the state, including services around Stuttgart and Ulm.
Franconia (DB Regio Bayern) – Some regional express lines in northern Bavaria also feature Desiro HC trains.

These trains are known for their modern design, spacious interiors, and high acceleration, making them ideal for dense commuter routes. They are also equipped with Wi-Fi, power outlets, and air conditioning, enhancing passenger comfort.

    Br 402 (ICE 2)

The Baureihe 402 (BR 402) is a high-speed train operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) in Germany. It is part of the ICE 2 (Intercity-Express 2) series, developed in the 1990s as a more flexible alternative to the original ICE 1. The BR 402 consists of a single power car and up to six passenger cars, allowing it to be coupled with another unit for longer trains or split for different destinations.

    BR 402 in Germany

The BR 402 trains are primarily used on long-distance routes across Germany, including:

    1. Berlin–Hannover–Ruhr Area – The ICE 2 is frequently seen on this important corridor, connecting Berlin, Hannover, Dortmund, and Cologne.

    2. Hamburg–Frankfurt–Stuttgart – Another key route where the BR 402 provides high-speed services.

    3. Dresden–Frankfurt – Serving eastern Germany, this line connects Dresden with Leipzig, Erfurt, and Frankfurt.

    4. Occasional International Use – In the past, some BR 402 trains were used on cross-border services to Austria and Switzerland.

    Key Features

    Maximum speed: 280 km/h (174 mph)

Tilting technology (not used in service)

Modular train configuration (allows coupling and decoupling)

Modernized interiors with Wi-Fi, power outlets, and improved seating

Though the ICE 2 (BR 402) has been largely replaced by newer ICE 3 and ICE 4 models, it still plays an important role in Deutsche Bahn’s long-distance fleet.

Well...to give it some more connections to the game...

the most significant thing on BR 402 is that it couples two trains (more ore less two 7 waggon units are coupled to a 14 waggon train at some point of the journey...for example...

this train... going Aachen-Köln (SKA)- Duisburg-Bochum (HRR)-Hamm (where it couples to this tran...) Bonn-Köln (AI in SKA)-Wuppertal-Hagen (RRO)-Hamm-Berlin.

or this train...going Oldenburg-Bremen (BRO)-Hannover, where it couples to that train (Lübeck-Hamburg (HBL)-Hannover, and both trains went on via Kassel=Wilhelmshöhe-Fulda-Würzburg (SKW) to Augsburg-München=Pasing-München Hbf (HMA)-Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Mittenwaldbahn)...to cut it short two trains actually are playable on six routes in game...(HBL, HMA, HRR, RRO, SKA, SKW) (and at least AI on a modern MIT timetable....(AI on FTF by the way...) well...(actually, as SKW crosses MSB near Langenprozelten, it probably could even be AI on MSB, not sure if the crossing is really usable for AI, or only made for visibility), and there are more lines...for example...

This one is even somehow nice...München Hbf (HMA)-Würzburg-Aschaffenburg (SKW,MSB,AI on MTB)-Hanau-Frankfurt (FTF)...so well, the BR 402 would at least layer into BRO, FTF, HBL, HMA, HRR, LFR, MIT, MKN, MSB, MTB, RRO, RSN, SKA, SKW, S-Bahn Frankfurt and by the way in a timetable update for S2L.

this one...going Wiesbaden-Mainz-Frankfurt-Airport (upcoming S-Bahn Frankfurt route (and by the way AI on a modern LFR timetable) Mannheim (AI on MKN) and after some other stops again...Augsburg-München (HMA)).
