Norwich-Cromer-Sheringham. Norwich-Leicester. Gloucester-Birm New Street. Inverness - Thurso/Wick. Edinburgh-Carlisle (Waverley Route). Carlisle-Newcastle.
Why do you want these routes. When you are making a suggestion, please include more detail. I don't know some of these routes and don't know what makes them special.
Norwich to Sheringham - 30 miles 22 chains - about an hour, rural branch line Norwich to Leicester - No direct trains. SUBSTITUTION Norwich to Peterborough - 84 miles 19 chains - about 90 mins on a fast service Gloucester to Birmingham New Street - We new have BHM to Bromsgrove on BCC so maybe change this to: Bristol Temple Meads to Bromsgrove - 75 miles 49 chains - 70 mins on a fast (reliant on direct extension to BHM using BCC) Inverness to Thurso / Wick - 174 miles 31 chains - 4hrs 10mins - not a chance. Inverness to just about anywhere isn't realistic in TSW Edinburgh to Carlisle - 101 miles 78 chains - 75 mins on a fast run Carlisle to Newcastle - no direct trains
I think you are mistaken on that one, Tyne Valley via Hexham has been requested quite a few times and I have certainly travelled between Newcastle and Carlisle and vv on more than one occasion. Either a smoky MetCam Class 101, or a rattle and roll on a Class 142 Pacer. Re Inverness, I have suggested the possibility of a hub going out to maybe Aviemore/Garve/Invergordon and set back in the era when there was still plenty of freight.
I looked on RTT for the next week and they didn't list any direct trains... The Kyle line is a good shout (JustTrains did it for TSC)
Very strange. I am sure they are still bombing out of Newcastle when I pass through and well I know 100% they were running in August as I was on one of the services on a rickety old 156!
1. West Highland Line. Class 156, Class 153 (Glasgow Queen Street, Oban, Fort William and Mallaig) 2. Ayrshire Coast Line. Class 380, Class 156. (Ayr, Adrossan Harbour, Largs, Girvan, Stranraer and Kilmarnock). 3. Edinburgh Waverly to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High. Class 385 Class 156 at Oban (2) by TSW Nathan posted Oct 15, 2022 at 10:41 AM Class 385 by TSW Nathan posted Aug 7, 2022 at 5:16 PM Class 380 at Glasgow Central by TSW Nathan posted Sep 19, 2022 at 5:16 PM Class 380 at Ayr by TSW Nathan posted Aug 27, 2022 at 8:28 AM
Would be awesome to see the Wherry lines from TSC brought into TSW, with the pre 7xx trains. That would be my ideal. Failing that, Norwich to Cromer or Liverpool St to Southend/ Southminster or Ipswich & the East Suffolk/ Felixstowe lines.
No information on the streaming schedule for December 1st. Could this be Rivet’s latest route in the frame or am I reading to much into it?
It's been shut at the Carlisle end for weeks, as has the S&C due to a freight derailment that was lifted by crane only last week. Disruption for a couple more weeks then, yes, back to lots and lots of direct trains each day. Some start at Whitehaven and others finish beyond Newcastle. https://www.railfreight.com/railfre...isle-freight-derailment-recovery/?gdpr=accept
That is called the Tyne Valley Line Check this from real-time trains 1N67 Newcastle to Haltwhistle the 15:40 from Newcastle. Haltwhistle to Carlisle is a rail replacement bus service and the reverse
One train a day doesn't make a route worthwhile. People complained with BCC because it's only got 200
After a very quick glance at a timetable there are generally trains every half hour from Carlisle to Newcastle and then there are also services which only do half the route to Hexham from Middlesborough which we would drive from Newcastle.
1. Would need to be included with a Wherry Lines DLC 2. Too Long, maybe do Norwich to Peterborough via Ely then Peterborough to Leicester via Nottingham 3. Half of it is already in the game on BCC (Bromsgrove-New Street) 4. A 4 hour journey, no thanks 5. To Tweedbank would be fine 6. Tyne Valley would be a great addition to TSW Verdict: The route(s) that is/are most likely to come to TSW is/are (in my opinion): The Borders Railway or Tyne Valley Line
