Only just got into TSW. I'm trying to do my own Scenario and can do my route okay, but the AI ones are just not showing up. I've put them on AI and not passenger but no show....could be the routes are not on my route. Is there an easy way to work out where the AI trains can start from and where they can end so they interact with my train, when you're not familiar with their routes. It's PS5. Thanks
Sorry for the long post... There isn't an easy way to tell how fast an AI service will be. However, I will mention that if the AI start times are after the player start time, they will not move [1]. I'm afraid that intricate knowledge is the only real way to figure out when an interaction will happen (maybe you can use a timetable that is published online?) [1] If the player train starts at 15:15, and an AI service starts at 15:10, the AI service will not move until the game clock reaches 15:10 (which is 23 hours and 55 minutes away) so it won't move. To counter this, spawn the AI train at an intermediate location along the route, and set its start time to be the same as or after the player's start time. For example, let's imagine that you want an AI service to run from Milton Keynes to London Euston, calling at Watford Junction, and a player service that does the same thing in the opposite direction (London to Milton Keynes). Let's imagine it takes 30 minutes to get from Milton Keynes to Watford Junction, and that it takes another 30 minutes to get from Watford Junction to London Euston. If you set the player train to start at Euston 10:30, and the AI train to start from Milton Keynes at 10:00 so that the player train sees the AI before Watford, then the AI train won't move. Instead, you should start the train at Harrow and Wealdstone (which is between Watford Junction and London Euston) and set its start time to 10:30 or later. Then the AI train will be seen moving towards London before the player reaches Watford Junction, and the player will never know that it actually started at Harrow and Wealdstone.
Oh thanks a lot I think it's the departure times of the AI trains I've been mucking up. It makes sense with your examples. Thanks for taking the time to explain x
