Just got TSW2 and trying out the american route tutorials. Getting stuck on "Morning delivery" in that i keep crashing into oncoming loco. I guess i need to switch to another track but whilst driving cant see the colour indicators on the switch levers. Can anyone help

You can check/change the position of the switches on the map. The path is highlighted there too.

It a bit rubbish really. I checked the switches and got a blue line but when I got to far side of the crossover the next point was set along the collision path so I reversed, got out of the engine and manually switched the switch as I could not see how to change it on the map. I followed the blue line all the way to a symbol which I assume is the wagons. Having got over the next point I then checked the map and all looked ok. Got over the next one and thought the track I was on was not the one I was expecting and checked the map. Sure enough the point had been changed and I was now one the wrong track. More reversing required. Clearly I need to stop before each switch and check it is set correctly.
I also found that the suggested route is in turquoise but this does not mean that the switches are set this way. If you look at individual ones on the map they may well be set a different way. Once you come off the turquoise route the route will disapear and only re-appear when you get back onto the route.

Now off to work out why having coupled up, locked the coupling, released the wagon handbrake, taken out the reverser handle and set the MU switch to trailing and finally walked to the lead unit, I cannot get the train to move ...

The path through the points is shown in purple on the 2D map. You just need to click the little dot (node) with the mouse to change the switch direction. It's much easier and quicker than getting down from the loco and walking through the section, though you can use the free cam (8 on PC) to go along the length which allows you to snap back to the cab view when you've finished route setting.
