A good debate could be made about TSW.

How do we want to see TSW Evolve because so far that evolution is kinda came at a slow pace. It's already been 4 years since the TSW beta days.
    - progress is tracked
    - score points for either gold/silver/bronze
    - Trains run on set routes
    - mastery for added for progression
    Journey
    Time table mode

So this year was came a new iteration. TSW2
    - Added scenario planner
    - drive trains on any route
    - TSW routes work with TSW2
DTG opened up and now display a Roadmap every /2 week's
    But there's no Mastery yet.
Still earn Gold/Silver/Bronze from points you earn.
    Journey
    TimeTable mode

How do you expect TSW to evolve in next 5 year's

In five years’ time we will be just one more update away from steam trains and people will still be asking for LIRR to be extended to Ronkonkoma :D

But seriously, I expect there to be better passengers, steam trains, multiplayer and new play modes. There will be a faster growing number of routes due to several 3rd Party developers. The routes will be getting longer too where appropriate. Dynamic weather possibly. I think there will be quite an advanced scenario planner with much greater functionality and options for sharing scenarios. I think the timetable will still be the main feature of the routes but journey mode may change.

I would hope and expect that the game engine will improve and that all routes will run effortlessly and smoothly and I hope that greater processing power doesn’t get filled up and bogged down with ever increasing functions but rather is used for better stability and performance.
