So, after DTG´s poor track record on bug fixing there are very few possibilities that would make me purchase TSW3 and content. The first condition would be if it can cure cancer, then yes. (I think this remains unticked, though) OR: A TSG "Ludmilla" (DB BR 232) A TSG BR52 (some REAL Steam) A TSG Route like Niddertalbahn. And .... we have the latter. And the reviews, screenshots and video recordings are really, really mouthwatering. So, it seems there´s no way around number 3. But I don´t want to port all my routes to TSW3. Just for the sake of the Niddertalbahn route, what routes would be needed to enjoy all the possible layers in there? I know the BR 110 needs to come from BRO, and the (rare) appearance of the BR 103 happens only if you have LFR. But what else for rolling stock? Where does the - e.g. BR363 (365?) - come from? The freight wagons? And so on .... Thanks in advance for some guidance from the community.
As far as I know, only the br 110 and 103 from LFR add something, which is only being at the major stations on the route. The Br 356 is included with the route, same with the es50 (or something like that), so you don’t need anything else if you want to enjoy the routes timetable. (Although I recommend the Br 204 and one of the Br 363‘s just so you can make scenarios with them on the niddertalbahn) (I suppose DCZ is also a good addition due to the Br 612 also being available for some interesting scenario designer possiblities)
Lr gives you the layers but only as ai on electrified positions portions. If you get lr, you can also run the 628 on there
Great many thanks, guys! Very helpful! There just remains one question about entitlements: I pretend to keep the TSW2 environment as is and use TSW3 in parallel only for those persistent cases like the Niddertalbahn or another future DLC that might be of interest. All the TSW2 addons came with a TSW3 version entitlement. The question now is only if you can run both versions at the same time in different environments or if it is either TSW2 OR TSW3?
Tsw2 and tsw3 are their separate games so any progress you've made since the port over doesn't move between the 2. You can have both installed and play both at the same time.
I feel like I should lower your expectations just a tad bit. I love the route and wouldn't want to see anyone buying it ending up disappointed. You've read about the route and maybe you already know all this but all the same. Even if you do get the layers from LFR, your chances of seeing them on a run are pretty low. The 365 timetable is small. I finished it in one day. Spoiler While having the time of my life. Each and every 365 timetable service is an impossible gold medal driving normally. Also, if you're using safety systems try to prepare a keyboard. Without it, safety systems can only be activated at one end of the 628 right now. And read the manual found over at Steam! It'll teach you what to acknowledge (remember it's an older route). https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic....manuals/Niddertalbahn_Manual.pdf?t=1680096081
Tsg has already fixed the pzb issue and it's waiting for a release slot. Just because the 365 services are only a few and short doesn't make a route terrible or set a lower expectation. Medal thing is understandable but a route doesn't have to be bml busy for example to be a good route.
Thanks to everybody for your inputs! That clears it up. Nothing but waiting for a sale now. (Yes, I´m a greedy bastard)
Both Niddertalbahn and Linke Rheinstrecke are worth the money in my opinion. And they compliment eachother nicely. (LFR for the 110 & 103 AI on NID, and NID for the driveable 628 services on LFR). You can keep everything else on TSW2 if you wanted to.
No; the 110 and n-Wagen from BRO are the wrong era and livery. It's the set from LRS that layers into NTB.
