Although I'm still convinced that the first Dutch route should be a NS mainline route, seeing a partly single track mainline would one day be fun. The GTW is also a very interesting and somewhat noisy train I'd love to see one day .
same thought first NS then this, but i think this will be earlier then NS mainline, because Arriva is from DB
Nah, it doesn't necessarily need to be main line, but a Dutch route without any iconic yellow NS trains wouldn't really feel Dutch. But hey, that DM90 'Buffel' is good enough for me. Not really interested in those Arriva trains. It's just not Dutch enough :P
Considering DTG published a Train Simulator DLC with one NS-branded wagon in it, and ChrisTrains has been selling NS-branded trains for years, I doubt licensing is an issue. Looks like the issue is that DTG can't be bothered venturing into new territories and would prefer recycling Dostos and Electrostars over and over again. It's simply cheaper.
We probably are referring to differing defenitions of mainline. I just mean any part of the 'hoofdrailnetwerk', which is the concession given to NS, and thus the place where the Iconic yellow trains can be seen, it's just a hard word to translate. I think we're actually on the same page there.
