I noticed there are switches for quarter and end door bypasses in both the cab car and ALP-46 for the NJT Trenton route. Are these switches supposed to be functional and if so, what is their intended purpose? Also, should the button to open “high level” doors only open the quarter point doors and not the end doors? Not sure how it is in real life, but was curious if anyone here knew. Thanks!

“Open High” opens both end and quarter doors.

“Bypass” switches allow the train to override the safety system that prevents traction power when doors indicate being opened. This would be used when all doors are actually closed but the door closed indication can’t be obtained due to an mechanical issue.
