Hello folks, today AMD released the Adrenalin Software 20.9.2 and i was curious if TSW 2 still crashes with higher Adrenalin Software than 20.4.2 (GPU is an 8GB Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ Special Edition). What should i say? My TSW 2 Session is running over 80 minutes now and i have tested SKA, Bakerloo & CSX heavy haul without a single UE crash or other issues related to to the new GPU driver. At the moment i'm testing RSN without any crashes or issues so far and further tests across all the other DLCs are following. I just wanted to let you all know.
...that’s good news to hear. How often were you getting crashes before with the old driver (how many crashes in 24hrs of game play for example)? I would continue testing on as many routes as you have and see if this success holds up in the coming days and weeks. You could also ask Natalie or Sam to pin this thread at the top so people see it, and hopefully post their own results.
Since TSW 2 release it was announced in the system requirements at steam, that 20.4.2 is the max. supported AMD driver. 20.8.1 was up to date at this moment and i got crashes after a few minutes, i had no chance to play TSW 2 and rolled back to 20.4.2. 20.8.2 followed a few days later with same results and i rolled back to 20.4.2 again. A week or maybe two ago 20.9.1 was there and i tried it. No chance and i rolled back to 20.4.2 again-again. Yeah, as i saw 20.9.2 today, i was so curious and tried it again-again-again. I'm still playing, still the same Session, still 20.9.2, over 230 minutes without crashes or issues related to the GPU. 20.9.2 fixed all the UE crashes, atleast for me..
...can you post the exact crash header (at the top of your crash output) that you’re seeing in your crashes? Do you see any ref to ‘...D3D device being lost’ anywhere in your crash headers?
I don't have crashes anymore, where can i find the logfiles? EDIT: Check this thread please, there are some of these crashes: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unreal-engine-crash.25382/
