I don't know if this is loco specific, but I did not hear any sound when passing over track joints. Only the haptic effect lets the controller vibrate.

Will the sounds be added too when the Suspension improvements will be added "within the first few months after launch" ?

DTG hates joints sound. This is the only option in my opinion why they either don't use these sounds or make them so pathetic and unrealistic.

Can't speak for the US/DE route, but UK modern mainlines don't use jointed track, so you won't hear noise when wheels go over jointed track as there is no jointed track

What about switches? Even on old yard with rusted curvy rails still no sounds on switches - its normal? TSW doesn't divide sound between joints and switches. If there is no sound - then it wouldn't be hearible at any situations.
Even if the sounds are exists - in 98% they are so bad and unrealistic.

The jointed track as connection has become rare today. But in TSW as far im aware when the trains pass switches you hear the wheelsets going over the gaps (clack clack). This sound is also specified as "joint" sounds.

So OP has a point, didnt fire up TSW4. Are flange sounds there and is the noise over the switch gaps implemented like in 95% of TSW3 dlcs?

There are the sounds on the Azuma but they are just slightly too quiet. They are there though when going over points/Newark F.C.

There are track joint sounds on all the trains, and they can be heard clearly in my game. You should check your settings

Have to agree the joint sounds are not loud and never have been.
There are still plenty of junctions with jointed track and the odd old section here and there where there is still jointed track along the network. Shenfield being one such example.

I have been over the flat crossing at Newark today and the train clatters as it thunders across rather than being silent and gliding through like in game. The joint sounds are there in game but don’t sound like a 70odd ton unit passing over a gap in metal rails.

The Vectron has quite a lot of different "track related" sounds. Flange squeal, bogie yaw dampers etc. Imo DTG did a splendid job on the audio for the Vectron (biased opinion perhaps).
