Hi! Something I've seen for a long time but never bothered asking about. I have quite noticeable screen door effects on train windows and also on other parts of trains. Is it a limitation of UE4 or is there an Engine.ini setting that could sort it/causing it? Here's my settings on Engine.ini: Code: foliage.LODDistanceScale=10 r.ViewDistanceScale=8 r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.7 r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2 r.MaterialQualityLevel=0 r.LandscapeLODDistributionScale=3 r.LandscapeLOD0DistributionScale=3 r.TemporalAACatmullRom=1 r.TemporalAASharpness=1.0 r.TemporalAASamples=64 r.TemporalAAFilterSize=1.0 r.TemporalAAPauseCorrect=1 r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2.0 r.Shadow.TransitionScale=2 r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=2 r.SSR.Quality=2 r.DFDistanceScale=10 r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1 r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0 r.Streaming.PoolSize=7000 r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed=3000 r.RenderTargetPoolMin=1200 r.Streaming.FramesForFullUpdate=2 r.Streaming.Boost=2 r.GTSyncType=1 r.OneFrameThreadLag=1 s.ForceGCAfterLevelStreamedOut=0 s.ContinuouslyIncrementalGCWhileLevelsPendingPurge=0 s.LevelStreamingComponentsUnregistrationGranularity=10 s.LevelStreamingComponentsRegistrationGranularity=30 r.Streaming.NumStaticComponentsProcessedPerFrame=200 gc.TimeBetweenPurgingPendingKillObjects=200 Attached are the images showing what I mean. Any assistance or guidance on if this can be rectified or if it's just how it is, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I think it has to do with taa which can cause ghosting on windows and when you are doing fly by camera shots. There is also ssr, but idk if it's causing that.
Well these issues are also at a stand still, just standing on the platform looking at a train, or sat on the train. I don't do fly by shots and also I have TAA turned off in my settings. It's not as bad with TAA on but I don't like the ghosting it creates.
It’s the reflections in shiny surfaces which are rendered in a lower resolution than the actual surfaces. It’s visible on any reflective surface not just the windows but does stand out badly on windows.
