I'm not surprised. At least I can say from the photos that the liveries look better than the UP ones. No weird texture glitches or lazy paint errors from what I can see so far.
this is very cool i love the fact we getting the Nickel Plate Road one for real now and not Creators Club was hoping they were going to bring to Class 222 to TSW but that is still a dream
They do look nice, hope to see the SD70ACes at a later date. Would also be nice to see HSC get an upgrade to the new sky. The old lighting system is too harsh on the route currently.
I thought that the Conrail heritage unit was an exception to the licensing considering it’s in TSC. I’m a little bummed it’s not here considering it’s my favorite railroad, but the paint jobs still look pretty good. Better than the UP pack.
I know it but it's about focus and priorities of the company. It's clear that old broken DLCs won't bring money in comparison with new ones. Remember TSW2 preserved collection, dude
Nine professionally designed liveries and six scenarios for -- in my case -- $14.99 strikes me as a good deal and I'm not interested in negative anticipation; so I'll probably have my wallet ready tomorrow.
So, something that was pointed out to me on the TSC discord that I didn't know about. So the Monongahela unit is the only heritage GEVO that has a Nose window door. And this was mentioned in the article.... So if 8025 is actually designed properly with the nose window door, it'll be a good step in the right direction for the smaller details on these units that have been missed in the past. (Like the Cane Creek AC44)
Honestly having mixed feelings about this. Yes these liveries look pretty good, but not having Conrail included (I understand licensing is an issue) is kind of a sad thing. May or may not pick this up depending on reviews of it.
Shame nothing was done about the timetable... also HSC could do with some proper revisit throughout. Gondolas, for example, are still not in the timetable at all.
Way to go and speaking of the PRR Colours that was obtained from the Insurance company that is a remnant of the PRR. For the Reading RR train it must be obtained from Reading Cinemas the survivor of the Reading RR collapse
Conrail was split between CSX and NS. Since DTG has licensing for both railroads, they should have the licensing for Conrail. I guess it's because Conrail technically still exists (Conrail Shared Assets). I was hoping for the new CSX heritage ES44AHs to be made in the future, and the Conrail unit was recently unveiled.
Except Conrail still exists as a corporate entity, reduced now to warehousing and other rail services. That brand they kept, even if all the other FF brands passed to CSX and NS. I'm sure NS had to pay them a hefty fee for that heritage loco.
Looking at the CSX heritage liveries after reading youe post, I have to say that they look a lot better than the UP's or NS's ones, in my opinion. I really like the split between old and new and would enjoy them to come to Sand Patch at some point.
Quite a shock, the majority think the CSX ones are pretty bad. (I think so too since you can't really tell its one from the front.) Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Metra, New Jersey Transit, and Iowa Interstate I think are the best due to them sticking close to the originals as possible. Canadian Pacific and Amtrak have good ones too, but CP hasn't done anything for the SOO line yet, and Amtrak has yet to bring back the original Genesis Phase 3 paint. Union Pacific's are homages to the originals, but not really exact copies (Except maybe the CNW) The CSX ones...I don't know having the normal noses just throw the whole unit off, not to mention some of them have too small or too big logos. And we don't talk about BNSF's 25th anniversary units.....
Same on not liking them either, the transitional look just throws me off completely as well. And yes, they should've fixed the logos to the right size instead of just trying to fit it with the rest of the lettering. At least the other Heritage Units are done well (UP Heritage Units are my best however) compare to CSX.
It's exactly that mashup of old vs new, and the slightly different logo size that I like a lot about the CSX liveries. It's not the same loco anyway, as far as I can tell, so trying to redo the very same livery on a differently looking engine looks ... off. Also, most liveries, in my eyes, looked a lot better on their original loco compared to the heritage livery. That's where CSX comes into play, by not just 1:1 trying to recreate the design, but making it work with the new loco and their shape. But maybe I'm just biased on the CSX brands. I think Chessie System, Seaboard System Railroad and Conrail are some of the best looking designs in american railroad history. (Along with Burlington Northern, Rio Grande and Western Pacific. The day TSW creates Feather River from TSC I'll mark as a bank holiday in my calender)
I see Horseshoe Curve has been on sale on Playstation and is included in every steam sale. When is it going to be available on a Microsoft Sale for non xbox game play users. I only bought an xbox to play TSW and will purchase the Norfolk southern collection pack for stream but not for xbox until I can afford to add HS Curve. It is the only DLC I have not purchased for xbox.
That's great but the engine sounds are horrible! Why not give these the same sounds from Cajon Pass??? Man, that would give these big GE engines justice. I do not drive them because of that reason. Please fix this problem!
It's a sound audio patch for a certain engine..not the whole route. Why make the model in the first place without the proper sounds? Nice looking engines that sound like LOVE. Shame.
So, based on conversations in the TSC discord, the Conrail unit was already done by Skyhook (Including a nice photo of it) but as noted, since DTG currently doesn't have a license with the CSAO, they can't release it.
