Hello all, I have, even after a new installation, with the Norfolk Southern N-Line through a check with RW-Tools, the files, see screen show as missing. Does anyone else have this problem?
I don't think it is a real problem, the PennCoal.bin is a trackrule from Norfolk Southern Coal District. Maybe it was used in the early development and in those tiles there are leftover references. I've had no issues with the route (but with its rolling stock...). So they added new trackrules, and the previous one stays in the files, because I think it is not trivial removing those - if you've ever edited a route you know why. You cannot select them directly, instead only update a piece of track with a new rule. Few weeks ago there was a discussion on RailworksAmerica because TSTools reports missing assets for the G-Trax Cascadian route. Michael Stephan joined in and told us those were leftovers from the backdating process based on Stevens Pass, and they just removed the unwanted asset files while not removing all references in the route itself because of some difficulties with the route builder crashing. But the route is showing and playing as intended. So there's no need to worry I think.
Wow, thanks torfmeister for the quick and, above all, comprehensive answer. Then I'll just let it go at that.
Did you extract the assets from the *.ap file in Assets/DTG/NLine folder? TS or RW Tools does not see inside *.ap files and they need to be extracted. But as these files come with the route I'm not sure why it needs to be checked with TS Tools? Peter
