    Evening all

i have been creating some assets to import in my route and have added some normal maps to make them look more realisic but when they appear in the editor they are just plain with no detail to them, has anyone else experienced this? Im using blender and setting up the nodes in the shader editor.

It could be the shader you are using to import it into the sim.

Im using the principled bsdf shader for the surface and then trainbasicobjectdiffise.fx in the shader name

This is only something that is used in Blender. The IGS exporter ignores everything except from the settings under the IGS options.
You need to use a shader that support normal maps, look for "bump" in the shader name. One that is simple to use is TrainBumpSpecMask. Slot 1 uses a diffuse texture with an alpha channel to control the specular level, in slot 2 you add the DirectX normal map.
