Been thinking of bying the North London & Goblin route in the future. As far as I understand it is an extension to the original North London route (i.e. includes all tracks from that route and some more). Is it possible to run scenarios created for the original North London route on the North London & Goblin by cutting the scenarios from the North London folder and pasting them in the North London & Goblin folder or won't they work then? For example the scenarios included for the AP 313. I don't want to by both routes.
i may be wrong on this but i dont think it will work as the route folders have different names. i stand to be corrected though.
Scenarios are independent of route folders, the route GUID does not appear in a scenario file. If all markers have the same ID and name, it should work. As mentioned correctly, you must not copy them. Either cut&paste or clone and move them. There must never be two scenario folders with the same GUID in the game (no matter which route folder they're in) - this will cause very strange behaviour. Not by accident did Kuju choose 128-bit GUIDs and a clone function which replaces these in the files - more unique scenario folders than stars in the universe are possible. (I can run original Castle Rock scenarios on the WS Castle Rock route without issues for example. Portland Terminal / Maine Maritime doesn't always work, as one siding marker got changed, leading to a dispatcher error when playing a certain HIS/Elphaba PT scenario on MM.)
It definitely works for old scenarios. The ones you are trying are career, so you might be better off cloning them. However, in this specific case, I wonder about the purpose. Did the scenery change or something? You either receive the old North London Line or not, its scenarios aren't in a separate pack. If there is a major issue with it, I doubt DTG would copyright strike them off the workshop. Similar to the Donner Pass ones with a fixed player timetable.
The purpose is that i'd like to run the NLL scenarios supplied with the AP 313 pack but I don't feel like buying both routes just for that. I do know that I won't get the old NLL scenarios with the newer NLL&Goblin. I see that some people have brought the NLL&Goblin and raised a ticket to get a code for the old NLL so that might be a solution. However is probably not sure that that works. Well, since i'm not likely to buy the older NLL anyway I might just buy the Goblin and hope for the best (either that the move works or a free copy of NLL) but it would be nice to know beforehand.
It's a bit arcane. There is a North London Line Content & Manual app, which is only supplied with the old NLL. I could remove it just to see what happens, but anyway. That might be a hack to allow purchasing NLL after NLG. In any event, https://steamdb.info/sub/114630/apps/ suggests that you get both if you buy the bundle. Using this: https://store.steampowered.com/sub/114630/?curator_clanid=4777282&utm_source=SteamDB More info about NLL: https://steamdb.info/app/325974/subs/ I recall a discussion stating that you get the NLL but don't get its scenarios. So for the AP stuff it should work. And the factory scenarios, well. End to end stopper in various weathers. But the 100MB is too much, so it might be purely assets - the size is similar to the archaic routes based entirely on asset packs. Fun fact about the above: The Manual DLC has been first observed on 2016-07-07. So it was a retroactive change to the DLC. I hope Spikee1975 has some further info.
It's a bit odd as the combined route sold on Steam has hardly any scenarios for the NLL. When I complained, was given a complimentary copy of the original NLL but you still have to run the activities seperately, not on the integrated routes.
The NLL original route (and therefore scenarios) is not supplied, only the NLL Assets (1.55 GiB) are in that package (North London & Goblin). MainContent.ap is not included in this NLL depot. But I've heard DTG gives you a key if you prove NLGL purchase. Which makes sense. If you buy South Wales Main Line you'll not get the shorter Bristol-Cardiff in addition. If I bought the route now I'd be confused to have two separate routes included, with one being a part of the other. So they removed it. https://steamdb.info/depot/325974/ I think the AP 313 scenarios should run on NLGL (unless markers/portals were changed) The original NLL route (without Assets) is in this depot (North London Line Route & Content) - which is NOT included in NLGL but DTG may give you a key for it.
OK, just checked and I've got all - NLL, NLGL and AP 313 pack. So I'm movin the scenarios and check myself. Original: moving scenarios from 59-2015 to 69-2016 route... one is missing (moving scenarios may require a SDBCache.bin deletion, not doing this now as it takes very long here) It does not work - the routes are technically incompatible. That answers the question. Ask DTG support for a key. Or AP for scenario updates.
