Introduction Hello all, today I shall be suggesting the North Wales Coast Line on the section between Chester (England) and Llandudno/Bangor (Both Wales) The route runs for 63mi 7ch between these stations. Heading east from Bangor, you are treated to some wonderful views across the Irish Sea, before heading south to the walled town of Conwy; Continuing out of Conwy, you are instantly met with a wonderful piece of scenery, the Conwy Railway Bridge, running right alongside (and partly within the walls of,) Conwy Castle. The line continues and meets with the North Coast of Wales, seeing even more stunning sights looking over the Irish Sea. After Chester, the line leaves the coast and heads South-West towards Crewe, meeting the West Coast Mainline. Rolling Stock Included (TFW) Class 175 (AWC) Class 221 {Both Liveries, ideally} (TFW) Class 150 Potential DLC (DB/TFW) Class 67 with MK4 carriages/DVT (TFW) Class 158 Layers [In] N/A Layers [Out] N/A Reusing [From other routes] The class 150 (West Cornwall) could be reused (provided appropriate Reskins are made) as AI at stations such as Chester, Shotton & Crewe. Reusing [From this route] N/A The Route/Stations The route, 63mi 7ch long, runs between Chester (irl Crewe) & Llandudno/Bangor (irl Holyhead). The speed limit is 90mph in most places. Some areas have lower speed limits, mostly after Llandudno (to Bangor) however it's almost all 90mph. Stations Chester Shotton (Low Level) Flint Prestatyn Rhyl Abergele & Pensarn Colwyn Bay Llandudno Junction ----------------------- (Llandudno Branch) Deganwy Llandudno ----------------------- (Mainline) Conwy Penmaenmawr Llanfairfechan Bangor (14 Stations / 63mi 7ch) The route itself runs closely alongside the Irish Sea, allowing the player to experience and see the beauty of this line. Services Note: ALL services have return services unless states {I.e 1tpd = 1tpd per direction} Avanti West Coast Note: AWC services end at Llandudno Junction instead of Conwy, as they do not stop there. Same applies to Premier Express (TFW) 6tpd • (For Crewe) Chester - Bangor {Calling at; Chester, Flint (limited), Prestatyn (limited), Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction} {Class 221} 6tpd • (for Crewe) Chester - Bangor (for Holyhead) {Calling at; Chester, Flint (limited), Prestatyn (limited), Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction} {Class 221} Transport For Wales 7tpd • (from Cardiff) Chester - Bangor (For Holyhead) {Calling all stations} {Class 175} 1tpd • (from Cardiff) Chester - Llandudno {Calling all stations} {Class 175} 1tpd • (from Cardiff) Chester - Bangor (For Holyhead) {Calling at; Chester, Flint, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction} {Class 67 Premier Express DLC only} 1tp2h • (from Birmingham) Chester - Bangor (For Holyhead) {Calling at; Flint, Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, Conwy, Penmaenmawr, Llanfairfechan} {Class 158 DLC Only} 1tph • (from Manchester Airport) Chester - Llandudno {Calling all stations} {Class 175 • Class 158 (DLC) operates these services too} 6tpd • (from Blaenau Ffestiniog) Llandudno Junction - Llandudno {All stations} {Class 150} AI Only Chester 1tph to/from Liverpool Lime Street {Class 150 & Class 175} 1tph • Crewe - Chester (Shuttle) {Class 175, Class 150} [Class 158 DLC] 1tpd to/from Crewe {Class 221 (Avanti)} Shotton 1tph • to/from Wrexham Gen. - Bidston {Class 150} Landmarks Basically the entire route The line, from Bangor to Chester, is home to some stunning scenery, and you'd have plenty to look at as you drive along, and marvel at the natural beauty of this part of the world. Conwy Castle & Railway Bridge Just outside of Conwy Station, the line runs alongside the castle, within parts of the walls, before crossing the wonderful bridge. The Coast The line hugs the North Coast of Wales, overlooking the Irish Sea. It makes for some really wonderful moments, and you should really get those railfan shots ready! My Thoughts I think, and I think anyone could agree if you have ever seen or had a look at the line, or even know it, it's stunning. Thanks to a few factors, namely West Cornwall having the Class 150 Few Stations Relatively quiet timetable I think the length of just under 63mi 7ch is quite achievable. Let's talk rolling stock; I don't really need to explain the 150 more than, it's convenient and runs a few services. The Class 175 operates most TFW services on this line, that simple. Same goes for the 221, it operates all Avanti West Coast services on the line, and adds a nice change. The 158 is a DLC Option and not included here as it's the least used (on this line) compared to the others (150/175) The 67 only operates 2 services, hence why it's not included here. Thanks for reading Note: I'm experimenting here with a new suggestion format, expect some edits here and there.
Excellent idea and if you're wondering this can Actually link to Calder Valley Line if DTG decided to do it has Chester Manchester Victoria Halifax route. Remember if you are standing at Chester railway station you are going to see a Calder Valley train towards Leeds via Manchester Victoria and Halifax.
