When doing services to Elkhorn, you are told to stop only 3 yards before a red signal pad. You are not able to undershoot it. You have to be right on it for it to let you complete the service. If you overshoot, you’re gonna spad. The best solution is to rather give more wiggle room for where you can stop such as a few yards from the stop marker, or move the stop marker back more so that if you do overshoot, you still have some room to stop before the signal pad. upload_2021-4-18_16-29-49.png
As you can see in this image, I’m about 16 yards from the stop point. The signal is 19 yards from me.

Edit: The service I was doing was an empty coal train so I was able to luckily do this first try. I then did a northbound coal train (loaded) and it was way more difficult to stop since you're on a 1.5% gradient. It took me 3 tries to successfully complete the timetable.

These "on or beyond" stop markers have to go. They need to be replaced with "Within X yards/meters in either direction"

Agreed. You would NEVER see an engineer pull up this closely to a red signal in real life. Passing a red signal can mean loosing your job or worse causing a major accident, engineers usually stop well before the signal.

Please DTG give us a larger stopping area before signals.

Yes definitely agree. Even just in general. It's annoying when you stop just 5 yards from the stop marker and it won't let you complete it until you are fully on the marker
