So the glossop line released yesterday is a great route, however feels a bit lacking in terms of variety. The EMT class 158 layer is a nice touch but in terms of driveable services, there should really be more. So i am suggesting a reworked class 150 to be added onto the route. This would operate 2tph each way to rose hill market (service would stop at hyde north in game) The new class 150 could include reworked physics, new sounds, and the northern livery and interior. As well as this, the class 150/1 could also be added. Class 150/1 variant (No gangway) Top speed: 75mph Layers: MML as AI at Nottingham Class 150/2 (with gangway) Top speed: 75mph Layers: MML as AI at nottingham Not only would this make the glossop line even more fun, but would also give us a realistic class 150 as well, which could eventually be put on to the rivet games version as well.
Much rather we had a Northern liveried Class 150 included in a separate route like Manchester to Liverpool via Chat Moss, then layered back onto Glossop line, instead of limiting it to a short back and forth drive along a small section of a small route. Similar situation to having a Class 170 on Birmingham Cross City, except here we already have a Class 150/2 model to work from. Although it would still be a welcome addition if that couldn't happen, just to liven the route up a bit more - as it could also add AI Sheffield and Buxton services at Manchester Piccadilly.
Love the suggestion, I think the Northern class 150 would be introduced in the Buxton line: Manchester Piccadilly to Buxton would be a perfect complete route after the Glossop Line.
Great suggestion. Despite the Glossop line being a self contained route I feel there could of been an opportunity to lay more signal/track to say Rose Hill via the 2 routes (Belle Vue, Woodley). Then at somepoint add scenery and add the 150 as a new DLC Rivet version with Northern Livery or if time permits the other Variant. This adds a DLC with a built in future expansion from the onset.
I think using existing traction (in this case class 150) with new liveries (in this case northern) is such a good idea, and one that should 100% be implemented in the game. it's surely an easy win from a developer perspective, it would be a very popular feature and is a 'quick and easier' way to make routes feel busier and more alive in the same way adding the class 380 as ai to the cathcart route would be really good.. and that doesn't even need a re-skin!
Great suggestion overall however they are suited for the northern rail trans pennine runs Tyne and Calder Valley lines and also settle to Carlisle line with Steam locomotives. You can also make the Class 150/1 British Rail colours to combine with Pacer and WCL 150/2. The later combination was seen in 2019-2021 since Class 150 is RVAR 2010 compliant but Pacer is not.
