Northern Trans Pennine: A List Of Stuff I Think Could Be Improved, Changed, Or Added

    I Did this for Sand Patch Grade, but I decided since I also Completed NTP's journey ill list some Stuff I think could be Improved, Changed, or Added For Northern Tran Pennine, this time I Decided to put it in Suggestions.

    Lets start with the
    Locos:
    Class 45:

    The Class 45 is a Very wonderful loco definitely made with love, nothing to really complain about but a nitpick where the Brake Pin in #2 Cab isnt animated normally and only goes up and down depending on where the Brake handle is, Along with that I would like to see MU Compatibility Added, that is all.

    Class 47:
    Ok I Used the Class 47 in a Service and uh i dont like it as much as the others, one of the main reasons is the Fact that the brakes can leak on a bit, Another reason is the High and low horn has a VERY Audible loop which is annoying, like before I would like to see MU Added to it.

    Class 101:
    The Class 101 is another very wonderful DMU also Certainly made with Love, But I got a few things about it,
    The Under Carriage is Literally a low res mess: sometimes its neat to hop on down and Start a Class 101 from the Outside as was done on a cold day but everything about the undercarriage is very low resolution so its hard to enjoy the little details without the actual detail.

    Most of the Switches are Slider Switches: you know switches which have require you to move your mouse or Thumbstick to use it I Call them Slider Switches, well the Class 101 on NTP has a lot when most of the switches have 2 states, this was changed on TVL where some switches like the Control Circuit key and Destination Blind Light switch became standard press the interact button and they change switches, I would also like to see this changed on the NTP Class 101.

    Add the Middle TSL: when TVL Released it came with a Middle TSL Trailer well I would like to see this Added to NTP and put on a few of NTP's Services, Alternatively you can just layer in the 3 car sets from TVL, the TVL 101 Do have Destination indicators for Leeds Huddersfield and Manchester so it wouldn't be a big issue but you guys at DTG need to bridge the gap between the different 101 versions first.

    Make it Act more Realistically: This is my Biggest complaint about the 101 in General on all routes with it, but I feel it doesn't act like it would IRL when you put the Throttle on Notch 1 it shouldn't be able to go to Max RPM, along with that the Gear change is Odd, The First Gen DMU's gear's requires 2 seconds to change Gears not when you are out of the yellow part of the RPM Gauge, also its a Very Smooth transition for the RPMs not a sudden drop in RPMs. that is all I Could think of for the Class 101.

    Class 40:
    Blah Blah Blah well done Locomotive, no real Complaints but I got one interesting things that could be Added.
    Lets us open the Communication door on the Head Code Disk Variant: So there is a door on the Noses of Head Code disked class 40s so it would be neat if we could open it and go between Locos or from a Loco to a Coach and Vice Versa, at the time NTP Takes place most Comm Doors where welded shut but I think it would be neat to add that Ability and with that to go between Cabs you may as well also let us walk through the Engine Room, or alternatively you just add a interaction to fade to black for A Second and end up in the other cab, would be a Cool addition. Thats all.

    Class 08:
    Nothing with the Class 08 its a Class 08 what ever problem it has on TVL applies here.


    The Rollingstock:
    MK2:

    The MK2s are very nice but
    The FK Is Mislabeled as a TSO:
    a Nitpick but what should be a FK (the Compartment Stock) Says its a TSO on its little info square.

    MK1:
    Although its just a BG I like it a lot idk why, but I Got a nitpick and a Suggestions,
    The weird little cable just stretches to the other side of the coach:
    if you look next to the Gangway on the MK1 and MK2 there is a little Cable which I presume is for controlling the lights, well when a MK1 and MK2 are coupled it seems to stretch through the gangway to the Other side to connect to the other cable instead of the one across from it.

    When opening the Doors for Passengers the BG's doors should open:
    The MK1 BG is essentially a Luggage Coach, so when I do a Passenger Loading operation I think the doors on the BG Should open, you know to let passenger drop there luggage off, plus for the Mail/Newspaper trains lets you stop and load up and Unload.

    The Services:
    Plenty of Services and the 46 I Have Completed have been Pretty good, but I Got some things.

    RB01 Cannot get above Bronze: I Did this service Multiple times Perfectly and still got just a Bronze medal I Got about 530 APs from this service but yet I Haven't got even a Silver from it so it might have to be looked at.

    NH06 is just short of 200 points for Gold:
    I just did NH06 BGs to Manchester Victoria to try to hold it, didn’t go over the limit at all and still ended up 200 points short, might have to look into it.

    Add Shunting to Huddersfield Yard: Huddersfield has its own Yard but to be Honest its Heavily underutilized so it may be Possible to add more Shunting to that Yard and Along with that some more.

    More Box Van Services: The 2-axle Box Vans only have like a few services with them so it may be a great opportunity to utilize them in more Services.

    Add some Coupling/Uncoupling services with the Class 101: DMU's during the Day may Couple and Uncouple from Trains as the Day Goes since Rush Hour is coming it may be a good idea to add Services where you couple and Uncouple Class 101 sets.

    Double Heading: Double Heading would be nice on a few services thats why i suggested MU on the Class 45/47 but one thing is the Class 47 isnt compatible with Blue Star Locos so maybe you gotta add the Double heading options like with the Class 20 on TVL

    The Class 31 and Cement Trains: ok so the Class 31 a BR Blue Loco with its own Cement wagons, WHY IS IT NOT USED IN NTP, what im saying is it would be Supurbulous if the Class 31 can Layer into NTP and with it bring some Cement trains from which all the Locos can be used on it along with the 31 on some of the Standard trains, perhaps Double heading on a few.


    Scenarios:
    Rescue Run could have a Slight drop in APs required to gold:
    I just done Rescue Run again to attempt for gold and was about 2,000 short and well I didnt over speed often i arrived relatively on time, but didnt hit the 7,150 APs needed instead i got 5,056 so it may need to be a bit lowered.

    How About adding a bit of Narration?: so im going to sand patch here but in the scenarios like you could hear your Second man or the Dispatcher talk to you or each other, it is Especially noticable when you play the C40-8W scenarios, but i would like to see it added here it added its own level of charm to Sand Patch and other routes that have it, you wouldnt even need to hire anyone you have the British voices over at DTG.


    Route Geometry Related stuff:
    The Route it self is great but a couple complaints.

    Fallen Trees are Stupid to find: ok so All along the line are Fallen Trees you gotta chop up and put in a nice pile but the thing is they are so far apart and take a bit of walking to get so it would be nice if you move them a bit more closer to the stations.

    Why is it So dark at night?:
    I understand night time is dark but SHEESH it’s practically the Void at night on this route, could you possibly up the brightness of the might a bit on NTP?

    The Small things: ok so near Newton Heath Fuel Stand I found a small little bit of rail floating, and on the way to Manchester victoria from Newton Heath there is a floating signal. that is all

    I believe that is correct though. As far as I know, by the time NTP is set, headcode disks were no longer used to signify train types. The bottom left and right were simply used as marker lights, with all others being closed. This page states that past 1977 different headcodes were abondoned completely.

    The class 47 could be improved immensely if the wheels actually made some noise. Apart from that it's excellent. Oh, and the brake still has a fit if you go into release for the briefest split second. Will it ever get fixed?

    I believe the Class 31 was originally meant for NTP, but its services caused memory issues on the route, which is why it was moved to TVL.
