I’m pretty sure dovetail can pull this off. A route where the sun never set. All i can think of is norway . This is no route suggestion I’m requesting. But this particular route would be cool due to around 2am the sun would be out. I’m not familiar with Norway but maybe anyone that live there know way more. What would be cool on this route while driving your train you’ll notice the sun set only to raise again. What do yall think. Have dovetail done a Norway route. upload_2024-9-4_14-13-58.jpeg

    I would love a Norwegian/Swedish route.
I would be particularly interested in the iron ore line from Narvik. Lots of variety with some of the most powerful locomotives in Europe pulling ore, the standard eu electrics pulling freight, units doing local services and a daily sleeper service to Stockholm with some classic stock. Lots of fun.

    Shunting around Narvik docks too!

Most magic place I've ever been... there's a few freeware routes in TSC giving you midnight sun runs.

Up north, it still gets pretty dark in the winter.

The sun never rises in December, you certainly get both extremes.

Now that would be interesting if DTG actually did this if Norway ever came to TSW. I think everyone would love to see Sweden too lol.

I'd guess there's more opportunities in Alaska or Canada for TSW.
We already have the locos and stock for them in game (if the right time period..otherwise we will soon)
DTG doesn't seem keen on getting more countries/continents into TSW.
TSC on the other hand.... plenty of variety there and some are actually up there already...
(But I get it if you're on console and don't have that option)

Being from Norway there's a rather big distinction in both climate and scenery between parts north of Polar Circle and south of it. "Up north", which is the route from Trondheim to Bodø, and big chunks of the route crossing from Oslo to Bergen/Stavanger, which is basically from Eastern/Western routes of Norway, a lot of time is spent in between mountains due to the topography. Oslo - Kristiansand (Sørlandsbanen), which is Southern part of Norway is probably the most open route with least mountain ranges (if any at all...?)

The biggest downside for routes north of Polar Circle contrary to, say South of Norway, is that during late autumn-, winter- and early spring months, it's literally dark all day long. While in the summer, there's no night with the Midnight Sun present.

There are many routes and sections in Norway that I still feel would be a perfect fit for DTG. Like "Vestlandsbanen", which is the part of connections at the West Coast of Norway, where the city of Bergen is. You also got your general commuter service like all other cities in and around Oslo.

As far as scenery goes, you can pick any location, really, where trains are operating as Norway is filled with mountains, hills, fjords, rivers, plataeus all over.

(Map of railways for Southern part of Norway. Blue lines are the main regional routes connecting Western and Eastern part of Norway. Black lines are commuter routes if I'm not mistaken. Nonetheless, plenty of beautiful scenery to be enjoyed here, especially at the West Coast where majority of the fjords are!)
