Norwich to Sheringham via. Cromer is around 30 miles long and has 10 stations. Known as The Bittern Line, this route passes through The Broads in North Norfolk, England, from the largest city Norwich to the coastal town of Sheringham. An all-stops service from Norwich would call at: Salhouse, Hoveton and Wroxham, Worstead, North Walsham, Gunton, Roughton Road, Cromer, West Runton and Sheringham Passenger services are operated by Greater Anglia using the new Class 755. Until relatively recently this route was serviced by the Class 153/156/170. This route has a great mix of busy and rural settings, with the terminus at Norwich and both dual and single track usage further down the line. Despite being relatively short, there is a really interesting mix of service pattern, from all-stops to semi-fast options. A really interesting feature here is Cromer station, where trains must reverse in order to continue the journeys in both directions. This could be great addition as part of Train Sim World, giving players the chance to shut down the cab and move to the other end during a service. There are also freight options, using Class 66, between the Norwich area and North Walsham. And as a possible extra option, the line could be extended at the northern terminus of Sheringham to connect to the North Norfolk heritage railway which runs to Holt, which is around a 5/6 mile extension to allow excursion runs using a Class 101 or similar. There is a level crossing in Sheringham that directly links the mainline to the heritage line, opening up some great potential for engaging scenarios. Adding this extra part would make the overall route around 36 miles long, so well within the capabilities of the game. I don't have any photos to add, but this is a great route that could be perfect for TSW2. It's a full route, a closed-network if you like, with plenty of variable passenger services, freight options and even the chance for a heritage railway added on too. I really hope this route could be considered to become a reality. Katia
It’s also worth adding the route was rated the 50th most scenic route in the world a decade ago. In terms of services 1tp2h to Sheringham (all stations) and 1tp2h to Sheringham (semi -fast). However, I am aware there are sometimes some trains that terminate at Cromer. We really need an Anglian route!
